I may have missed this ... how about SJI Junior 1-2KM Phase C will that be ballot? Thanks.
Yes some years. Other years balloting at >2km. This year I predict the latter. -
zac's mum:
You should be able to switch. I did the same as zac's mum to switch to ACSJ from ACSP. Maybe you can clarify with the church?
Oh, has the church suddenly tightened up the requirements? Because last year many switched over at 2B. But anyway, if you don't have any super strong reason for choosing ACSP, I can tell you that ACSJ is a fantastic school. I have no regrets giving up ACSP to switch over.hojicha:
Thank you for the insights! For 2B, church only allow parents named one school, thus parents can't switch at last hour regardless outcome. Will think hard on this. :nailbite:
So far my son is happy with his school, so no issue here in ACSJ. Actually I think it might be better as there are no secondary students to influence them, unlike in ACSP.

Haha galaxy raider, my hubby had the same thinking as you and I agree! The presence of the teenage boys in same compound would likely lead to earlier introduction to our innocent primary school kids of coarse language & surfing of unsavoury websites on handphones. I'm not saying we should shield the younger kids from such things forever (it is impossible), just that P1 and P2 are way too early to be spouting four-letter words :scared:

MOE's P1 Registration proximity criteria is just < 1 km, between 1 and 2 km and > 2 km.greeniac:
if based on the Onemap app, RMPS and Zhangde is within 1km, but RMPS is nearer. GES is within 2km.
we are worried the RMPS competition is high so need some advise for second plan
as this time is rabbit year, so most likely higher competition as what other parents has commented earlier.
Thank you
Since both you are within 1 km of both RMPS and Zhangde, you will be in the priority group '< 1 km' when you register in either school It does not matter if RMPS is nearer.
Yes, RMPS is a very popular school and faces balloting for the past 2 years at Phase 2C ('< 1 km' in 2015 and 'between 1 and 2 km'. in 2016). Zhangde did not face balloting last year (it did for 'between 1 and 2 km' in 2015).
Since you are within 1 km of both RMPS and Zhangde, you will be guaranteed at least a chance to balloting when you register in either school.
You may like to do more research on these 2 schools and then decide which school suits your DC's learning pace better.
All the best.
Thank you applecrumble, sorry for the late reply. But looking at the phase 2a1,
For RMPS seems to be very challenging.. i was hoping tomorrow phase 2a2 will not have so many applicants (haha.. so more slot allocated for phase 2b) then more slot for phase 2c (wishful thoughts
)

Lexy:
Dear lexy,
This year look more likely to have balloting within 1km for RMPS, Zhangde looks fine for within 1km. You need to ask yourself your risk profile for balloting. - how much risk you can take. The sooner you know this, the clearer your plan can be.greeniac:

Yes i am sure it will have balloting within 1km for RMPS, so we will monitor and decide so will not risk not getting into 2c sup hopefully..
Thank you -

Do you mind your child attending GESPS? If you don't mind, you can try RMPS at P2C. You shouldn't have any problem with GESPS in P2CS.
However, if you prefer ZDPS over GESPS, you may have to decide between balloting in RMPS and a confirmed place in ZDPS during P2C (ZDPS seems safe for SCs staying within 1 km in P2C). -

GESPS is around 2km from our house, so we are thinking to try RMPS as its walking distance, but if the slot is super less then we might need to register to ZDPS, its the second nearest..
but we also thought of another option for balloting for RMPS and GESPS for P2CS..
but heard from friends that its better if the school distance is nearer incase of CCA next time.. thats why crossing finger the slot is not so less haha
:thankyou: -
