I think cca should be a passion and/or an interest of our kids more than just a tool to dsa. Maybe that's why moe is trying to adjust cca domain every year?
I don't think the children train in order to DSA to a particular school. They definitely train in the sport cuz of interest and passion. Eventually, those who excel in any particular sport will become aware of the secondary choices available for them to DSA to and would have attended the open houses to select their choice school, only to find the DSA domain taken out at the commencement of the DSA Exercise in early May, during the midst of their SA1 exams. -

Had to call the school, and the lady answering the call insisted the emails had been sent out to both parents, but neither of us received. Asked for her help to resend to other email address and finally received.
Alas, as expected audition time clashes with another audition DS had to attend, and SJI made it clear in the notification that they would not accede to requests for alternative date for audition.
When DS comes home tonight, he would have to make the tough decision on which one to attend.[/quote]

Yes last year few students in NUS High were given CO without interviews. No idea abt the other schools :? -

It should be the secondary school that proposes to MOE and then MOE will look at their plans and approve it.
just to share since my older DD is in RGS. Nationally, since there are fewer and fewer students in each cohort, this also affects numbers each school can take. (I don't mean through DSA but overall). Her cohort had one less class than previous cohort.
RGS just went through an exericse, including consultation with many groups, before deciding to trim/ merge some CCAs, including a couple of sports. I don't know if these sports had DSA route but i figure this is one example of how schools do have to tweak their DSA priorities from year to year. -
