Must say though that walking in pe shirt along a trail is quite different from training in army gear?

      Sure is!

hubby said indoor activities are conducted during the hottest hours of the day for amy boys.
this event has something to do with adam khoo program.

macritchie to bukit timah. briefing before the hike. no lessons, so considered almost whole day event.

So she basically hiked home. šŸ˜†

The Macritchie to Bt Timah trail is mostly shaded. There are spots where it may be like an open field without shade but that is just for a short stretch. It is about 2hrs track depending on how fast or slow you move and where at Bt Timah the hike ends.

yup...but had to go back to school for dismissal. she told me she could have walked home since it's near.

MacRitchie to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve? The trail has lots of shade, and is cooler than normal places but perspiration , boy! šŸ˜“ The hike itself should be less than 10 km more like 8km ish I think.

I am prone to headaches/migranes in the sun, so for me hat/cap is a must + shades. DS/DD dont like caps becos head sweats even more. And anyway there is direct sun only inshort stretches.

Good to hydrate at regular intervals. What I do is throw in a bottle of 100+ in the freezer the night before. It is nice and melted towards the last leg of hike One bottle of water and one bottle of hydrating drink, a cap, a poncho, a hand towel, a paper fan and all set.

And it feels damn good to sweat it out.

And even better if there is some good makan place at the end of the hike.

Unlike kiddos, I am not a very sporty person though I do like the great outdoors. I am sorely lacking in the co-ordination department. One for my fave activity is walking or hiking and kiddos do indulge me in this activity.

Even so,we are not always in army gear all the time. Most of the time,we are in shorts and shirt. We only train outdoors when weather conditions permits.

Made to hydrate all the time due to the hot weather.

Even when I organise matches for my weekend football team,I made sure the matches are from 5-7pm as to make sure both teams are not playing in unhealthy conditions.

But organiser cannot predict the weather right?

We are talking about organising and event that involves a lot of people. Transport needs to be catered. Programmes need to be arranged. Not something that they can say see today weather nice or not then we go.

finally our army man here agrees. the person who organised the hike should have went yesterday.
3 paracetamol tablets within 12 hours is simply too much. it's not like training the girls before enrolling for NS.
