Does anyone know how many applicants DHS shortlist for interview and how many places they have to offer?

At the open house, they said there are total of about 120 DSA places roughly 1/3 of the cohort.

In previous years they used to admit up to 50% through DSA.

Wonder why cut the seats when DSA is getting to be a bigger thing in education. Aren't MOE promoting holistic education - skills and marks?

Everytime whenever MOE made any changes, it just add on more stress to the children and parents. It’s not holistic at all. Be it the PSLE t-score to Banding or the DSA and many changes to the subject syllabus year after year.

For instance, the new MT video oral, which is making MT more difficult to score.
        Haiz…

Probably someone up there \"think\" that we should spread the DSA pie to other non-IP schools. If you notice, a lot (not sure if it is all) of the IP schools who used to accept 50% through DSA now say they only accept up to 30-35% this year. The non-IP schools now can accept up to 20% through DSA.

I agree, more stress now with all these last minute changes.

It's natural for many of us to be resistant to change. However, change is the only constant in life. Rather than viewing changes made by MOE as burdensome and stressful, perhaps we should use them to show our kids that nothing in life can stay the same and hence we must learn to be adaptable and flexible if we are to survive.

Do you think any schools will send out on Saturdays?

Under the new psle AL scheme (from 2021) :
they want to spread out the good students to other secondary schools as well, not just confined to always the R/ H family.

So now, they start working towards this goal : no more like last time 50% dsa seats \"chopped\"

Saturdays : some students go to school for Certain Cca (eg : band, guzheng, etc) but officially, not a study academic day.

I only applied 1 school .. 😞 Still no news.. They are really keep it till month end I guess. Monday is 31st July.

Don't dwell into the past, anymore.

At that point when u applied for dsa, believed there were reasons then why u only wanted to apply for just 1 school back then, and not more.

What's important is : focus, concentrate on coming psle. If your child do well, his / her T-score is high, child can go to any Secondary school child like to.
