Hi, does anyone has the stats for ngee Ann primary?
Singaporeans within 2km all in, but I think beyond 2km as well. It's over by 5 places and when I went on Friday morning, there were 6 PRs. So unless some PRs pull out in the afternoon, all Singaporeans shd be in. -
Orb:
I agree with what Orb said. There's affiliation for St Stephen so it saves you the stress during PSLE. Also why there's a drop in those 2 years might be due to a drop in boy birth rate for those 2 yrs. Even for CHIJ katong girls and haig girls there's also not many intake. This area has many schools so the take up rate is being spread out.
I guess for the same reasons you didnt choose this school in 2C?brfish:
Thanks for the input. One question I have is that before 2016 St Stephen was always over subscribed in 2C. However in 2016 and 2016, the take up rate for 2C were only 57% and 36 respectively. Why such a big change? Has anything happened about the school?
Some parents prefer SAP schools, some prefer co-ed, some prefer non-christian environment, some prefer acedemic rigour (eg-: 97% cannot take higher chinese)...
St Stephen's has secondary affiliation to two secondary schools so thats a bonus to parents who likes secondary affiliation.
Good luck to your balloting.
My neighbour is an ex moe teacher who has been teaching for 40 over years told me St Stephen boys are very nice kids as she does relief teaching in that school after retirement.
Tanjong katong used to have alot of foreigners as most locals doesn't want to go there. But their standards are getting higher and there are more local in the school. Nowsaday foreigners go to opera estate primary instead.
As for bedok green I'm not too sure as I leave in marine parade so I still can give some advices for the scools in the my area. -

There are a few factors you should consider when choosing which school
1. Which school is nearer to your house?
2. Assuming that your child is a boy since St Stephen is one of your choice then do you have to worry abt p1 registration again if you had a girl unless this is not your concern orelse St Stephen is quite a good school.
Cant comment for Tanjong Katong and Bedok Green as i didnt hear much abt the school. I would assume that perhaps TKPS has more PRs and Foreigners than SC in the school.
We will have to go for balloting next week too. You must be living in bedok area.. which school did u register? I am considering st stephen too but not sure about home - school distance.[/quote]I actually live in Geylang and I'm balloting for Kong Hwa. So distance wise TKPS is definitely much closer. However, for the next 2 years they will be at Bedok temporarily, which is quite far... That's why I'm considering St Stephens. -

The number at school not tally with MOE's number. The school show 85 vacancy, 73 SC and 7 PR registered. I think there are last minute withdrawal, really last minute. I left Ngee Ann at 4:10pm and there are few SC >2km waiting for withdrawal at another school. I check with the staff, they told me PR no chance that's why I rush down to TKPS. At 4pm PR within 1KM is ballot, more and more parents coming from other places and the security guard is kind enough and walk around to check and inform parents. Most of the PR actually camp there and see the situation and switch to other places. I'm able to register at TKPS at last minute. Now knowing that the number is 87, I might missed the chance if PR within 1KM is having balloting.vine712:
