Thank youvine712:
Hi, does anyone has the stats for ngee Ann primary?
Singaporeans within 2km all in, but I think beyond 2km as well. It's over by 5 places and when I went on Friday morning, there were 6 PRs. So unless some PRs pull out in the afternoon, all Singaporeans shd be in.

Morning,
Yes thats what i heard as well. My friend's son is in St Stephen's and he is loving it. Heard the school has an understanding and kind cultureOrb:

There are a few factors you should consider when choosing which school
1. Which school is nearer to your house?
2. Assuming that your child is a boy since St Stephen is one of your choice then do you have to worry abt p1 registration again if you had a girl unless this is not your concern orelse St Stephen is quite a good school.
Cant comment for Tanjong Katong and Bedok Green as i didnt hear much abt the school. I would assume that perhaps TKPS has more PRs and Foreigners than SC in the school.
We will have to go for balloting next week too. You must be living in bedok area.. which school did u register? I am considering st stephen too but not sure about home - school distance.
I actually live in Geylang and I'm balloting for Kong Hwa. So distance wise TKPS is definitely much closer. However, for the next 2 years they will be at Bedok temporarily, which is quite far... That's why I'm considering St Stephens. -

I agree with what Orb said. There's affiliation for St Stephen so it saves you the stress during PSLE. Also why there's a drop in those 2 years might be due to a drop in boy birth rate for those 2 yrs. Even for CHIJ katong girls and haig girls there's also not many intake. This area has many schools so the take up rate is being spread out.
I guess for the same reasons you didnt choose this school in 2C?Orb:

Thanks for the input. One question I have is that before 2016 St Stephen was always over subscribed in 2C. However in 2016 and 2016, the take up rate for 2C were only 57% and 36 respectively. Why such a big change? Has anything happened about the school?
Some parents prefer SAP schools, some prefer co-ed, some prefer non-christian environment, some prefer acedemic rigour (eg-: 97% cannot take higher chinese)...
St Stephen's has secondary affiliation to two secondary schools so thats a bonus to parents who likes secondary affiliation.
Good luck to your balloting.
My neighbour is an ex moe teacher who has been teaching for 40 over years told me St Stephen boys are very nice kids as she does relief teaching in that school after retirement.
Tanjong katong used to have alot of foreigners as most locals doesn't want to go there. But their standards are getting higher and there are more local in the school. Nowsaday foreigners go to opera estate primary instead.
As for bedok green I'm not too sure as I leave in marine parade so I still can give some advices for the scools in the my area.
Thanks a ton. This is very helpful. -

The number at school not tally with MOE's number. The school show 85 vacancy, 73 SC and 7 PR registered. I think there are last minute withdrawal, really last minute. I left Ngee Ann at 4:10pm and there are few SC >2km waiting for withdrawal at another school. I check with the staff, they told me PR no chance that's why I rush down to TKPS. At 4pm PR within 1KM is ballot, more and more parents coming from other places and the security guard is kind enough and walk around to check and inform parents. Most of the PR actually camp there and see the situation and switch to other places. I'm able to register at TKPS at last minute. Now knowing that the number is 87, I might missed the chance if PR within 1KM is having balloting.vine712:

For Methodist Girls Primary, does anyone know what is the number of applicant for SC within 1km, 1-2km, outside 2km for the 33 applicants in phase 2c? Thanks!
32 SCs<1km vying for 31 vacancies. @4.15pm, 32nd SC appeared...

Anyone knows the final number within 1km for ATS?
-
Apology asking again if anyone has info for HPPS within 1 km number.

Folks, just relax and wait for the official word from MOE on Monday. Nothing you can do anything about it over the weekend.

MOE website will only reveal the distance category for which the balloting will take place. They still refuse to reveal how many applicants per distance category.
So those who have all the pent-up extra energy and worries, please spend your time to craft a strongly-worded email to MOE, your MP, The Straits Times, etc etc etc. Then we will have some positive proactive action going on. -

besides writing this into the 2018 P1 thread, u may also post this into 2019 P1 thread.MOE website will only reveal the distance category for which the balloting will take place. They still refuse to reveal how many applicants per distance category.

As this year Phase 2C is already over, the ones who are more keen / eager to see positive proaction taking place : with the detailed breakdown by distance from MOE : will be the next batch and subsequent batches, ie. for 2019 / 2020 / 2021 P1 intake, and future batches.
Your point is very valid, zac mum.
Year in year out, there were so many parents under Phase 2B Grassroot Leaders community, enrolling their children under P2B : strange that nobody from this community \"Leadership\" group take any initiative to raise this valid point, to government / MOE. After all, every parent from Phase 2A1 all the way to Phase 2C Supp, are looking for detailed breakdown figures, by distance. Nobody is interested in just Lump-sum figure, which MOE providing now, in her daily 8+ pm update on MOE website.
The fact is : Lump-sum figure is useless ! Lump-sum figure can't tell anything, as good as not providing any info,at all
In that critical hour, so many parents are anxiously awaitng to know : how many kids are enrolled, under their own distance-bracket, in that school they going to enrol ?
actually, all parents have the right to know, which is the detailed figure breakdown
worse still, some schools even suppress such critical, important info, from parents. Ask the admin staff : some so secretive, refused to disclose, as what some parents had reported their encounter before, with them. Ridiculous !
fancy suppressing or hiding such info from parents, when it is required.
