Me Time!

janet88:
I am not sure if I have the time as this Taiwan trip is for training purposes.
Hi FishFingers,FishFingers:
Hope that you and your family will be well soon,Janet...Take care.Do drink plenty of fluids and avoid certain kinds of foods in this weather.
If your kids love nougat, Taiwan has this brand which is absolutely yummy. it's 'sugar & spice'. there isn't a milky smell and the taste is gorgeous!
Will try look out for it during R and R though. -

Ok lah,I am quite worried about the wife flying as it will take around 7 hours.Maybe I will not let her fly over.
with your parents here as well, it's going to be a big party when the twins are born...and you have no lack of babysitters. your wife can fully concentrate on coaching the older girls while the younger twins will have 2 sets of grandparents to look after them. awesome!FishFingers:
Was born in New South Wales so it is like going home but I am a true blue Singaporean. Parents already migrated there after mom retired from teaching service.
But I am still divided about flying there though cos my wife will be 7 months pregnant by then.Maybe will ask my parents to come over.
Maybe you can try soft drinks with lemon juice when symptoms of illnesses like flu or cold appears?Maybe it will work for stomach ailments?
I will be glad when this sickening weather is finally begone. Some of my men could not take the heat and fell sick. But trainings and rehearsals still have to continue without them.I heard this stupid weather will go by Sep?
It works a lot for me in the past. -

7 mths is quite a good time to fly - no more sickness, not too big, still early. Subject to clearance from the doctor, of course. Some airlines may require a doctor's letter, so you may want to check if that's required. Why don't you ask your wife how she feels about flying? It's not just your decision. -
slmkhoo:
7 months is rather subjective, furthermore your wife is pregnant with twins...i remember i wanted to go somewhere with hubby then, but the gynae refused to give clearance.FishFingers:

The weather is really terrible. I pity your men...they have to train under such harsh conditions. National Day next week...trainings will definitely intensify. -

As we have to appear in public live next Wed,I let my men report sick and let them rest as much as I can give them so the they can prepare for one of the biggest days of their lives.Always believed in giving grace/showing kindness to others.Always emphasized this to my children.
Hopefully, the rains will come soon and cool all of us down.Really missed the kind of sunny and wet weather of Singapore 20 years ago.Even when I went swimming recently, the water in the pool was warm. When I brought the girls to ECP recently, not many people were there.Had to cancel some weekend soccer friendlies due to the scorching hot weather too.
How are you Janet?Feeling better? -
Fish Fingers,
Other than losing my voice, I am fine. Thanks for asking.
I just keep drinking lots of water the whole day.
At 7 months, I think many gynae may not encourage pregnant women to fly. It’s safer to for your wife to stay in Singapore. -

Try drinking Aquarius or soft drinks mixed with lemon juice. It works for me but I am not sure if it works for you.Fish Fingers,

Alternatively, you can get blackcurrent flavored lozenges from clinics. Also can work as well.
As for my wife, she is not working after August so she can have a good rest at home. -
Fish Fingers,
Your wife deserves a good rest before the babies arrive. Hope you have some time to spend with her before flying off…but I know you are busy with NDP rehearsals.
Since the girls will be coming here, why not withdraw from school in Malaysia and take this period of time here to get a head start? Or maybe spend some time bonding with mummy? -
Hi FF,
Your twin girls confirmed coming to Sg, to study ?
If confirmed, then no point continue with Malaysia school. Withdraw from Johore bahru school, because they have lots to catch up with our Sg school syllabus, for all the 4 subjects.
Might as well let them attend P4 Sg school now (the school that had already accepted them) lessons : no need to take any P4 SA2 exam in coming October 2017, whatever remaining days are left behind for Term 3, plus another 10 weeks of Term 4, but just let them adjust to new school environment, and to get in tune with the Sg syllabus, for all 4 subjects.
Setting down itself, to a totally new environment : need at least one to two term, for Transfer-in students, depending on how fast / slow, they adapt.
They will be facing new P4 (Form Teachers, Subject Tr, Cca Tr, classmates, school mates, school-bus mates, school premises), etc. -

Fortunately the girls have each other for company here. Totally agree with phtthp. It's pointless continuing in Malaysia. Bring them here asap to get adjusted to the culture and syllabus. They need time to do so. Since your wife won't be working, she can help coach them.Hi FF,
