Hi, newbie reporting here! Just received the confirmation letter today for admission for my Son!
However we are unable to attend the orientation as we have planned for our Nov holidays then… any idea what’s gng to happen during the orientation and do we buy text books / school uniforms then?
Btw, we received our alumni letter for application in mid June this year. -

Hi! My son is going to join CHS next year! Am looking for after school care. Any reviews on joyhouse? Or other recommendations?
Thanks! -
Hi Parents,
Newbie here reporting in. My son attending P1 next year (2018).
Was working out schedule and felt timing looked crazy (sleep at 6.30pm!?), so thought should consult you experience parents here.
Are timings below similar to what you guys are doing? What did I miss?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Schedule
7.15am - Arrive at school
6.15am - School bus pick up
5.30am - Wake up (crazy early!)
6.30pm - Sleep (11hrs for young children, and I don’t even reach home from work by this hour)
4.30pm - Dinner (2 hrs before sleep) really?
2.45pm - Reach home.
1.45pm Class end, take school bus home.
11am - Lunch in School?
7.30am - Class start. -
Hi my P1 boy happens to need only 10 hours of sleep. He has always been at the shorter end of the range for his age (yeah, full of energy
)...but maybe u can insert a short nap after school if he is too tired (just a suggestion. Didn't work for my boy).
And yes, we have dinner around 2 hrs before bedtime. Milk around 30 min before bed, so that his tummy is full thru the night. I work mornings only so that's fine for my family. You can tweak it a bit by shifting the dinner closer to bedtime. Place a snack midway in the afternoon, cut the milk?
I can't comment on the morning schedule much, since we live very near school. Except maybe u can cut some time between wake up & bus pickup (maybe he can eat on the bus or in school after reaching?) -

Yes, staying near school would help.
Thanks for your other suggestions as well. -
Hi all,
I'm also curious. Any idea why class starts so early?
Can understand if the school needs to fit 2 sessions into a day, but Catholic High is a single session school.
The school empty out after class ends at 1.45pm (except for optional CCA activities).
Some advantages if class start at mainstream hours eg. 10am - 4.15pm could be;
1. Avoid peak hour traffic,
2. Doesn't disrupt family mainstream schedule (normal dinner and sleep hours),
3. Parents who prefers to send children to school can drop them off early at their preferred time and let children hang out at library to revise their schoolwork.
4. Most importantly, parent gets to spend time with children in evening after work.

Hi Mummy and Daddy,
Has Cat High stop teaching Eureka Science in P1 & P2? -
Classes start early (despite being a single session school) so that they can get most of the lessons out of the way before it gets too warm in the afternoon. This is my just my opinion!
My son (P3) gets up at 6:10 am and catches the school bus at 6:25 am at a location 4 requiring a 4-min walk. He eats his pre-packed breakfast in the school canteen before lessons.
Sleeping at 6:30pm seems extreme. 7:30pm will probably be sufficient in iantao’s case. But does your kid really need 45mins? Let me share a tip… buy the polo-shirt and have him change to his uniform just before bed and sleep in it! Wear the PE kit on PE days. He only needs to wear the "full uniform plus tie" on one day a week. We need to use time-saving measures to ensure that kids waste little time in the morning. Have him wake up 5 mins earlier just for that day.
