For those who DSAed in earlier, can switch from JC to JC? Need to exit IP track?
That's a good question. I think I heard someone said before that there was a case of a girl who DSAed into an IP school (at that time no O level class), couldn't make the min cutoff to promote to IP-JC end of year 4, was not allowed to transfer to another non IP JC (by MOE), and so ended up in poly.

The rationale from MOE then was 1) she DSAed into an IP school, so her commitment is to an IP program, so cannot anyhow transfer to another non-IP JC (and other IP JCs didn't want to take her in due to poor results), and 2) her poor sec sch foundation would mean she would struggle in A levels, so shouldn't transfer to a JC to do A levels.

From what we gathered at RGS open house - re DSA sports Students - they will be allowed to skip selected lessons like PE, so as to have extra time to catch up with work and or classes that they have missed due to training or competitions (local and overseas). Teachers will try to accommodate to help the girls with their missed lessons/catch up with syllabus.

We understood that there is a strong support system for DSA sports students

Oh I see... Pity those girls then...

So different non-dual track IP schools have different policies.

            1) RI/NYGH start on demand O'level classes for a few students who cannot make it or

2). NJC, repeat year 3, or

3). RGS, asked to leave quietly
If the school is not suitable, it is better for them to transfer. I have a JC mate who transfered in year 2 to a second tier JC.

She was under a lot of stress then. Fortunately, her parents and school supported the transfer.[/quote]
For RGS, no O level class.

So, suppose after the Tr had done their very best to help the student, and if it still doesn't work out, (student & her parents) can request MOE to help Transfer her out to another school. She then leave / exit RGS quietly.

Did any school release DSA results during PSLE oral days last year?

                True

There isn't any O-level-on-demand class, inside RGS.

RGS Teachers will do their very best, to help these affected girls.

                But, in the
Event inspite of the help the student had received from the Tr, and if it still doesn't work out, then (student & her parents) can approach MOE for help , to transfer her out to another school. In the end, the girl will exit RGS, quietly.

I know a case from DHS, repeat or leave quietly. It's quite common esp IP schools w/o O level track.

                  For Dunman High case :
met this mother whose daughter was in DH Sec 4, last year (2016). Her daughter was playing guzheng.

She was very worried and told me that if her girl doesn't meet Year 4 promotion criteria to move up to Year 5 : the student will be retained, repeat Year 4.

By the way, hearsay that for CHIJ St Nicholas (IP) programme : those IP Teachers don’t teach much. They gave out brief Lecture notes.

Any St Nick IP (parent or student), can help verify this, is this True or False ?

Actually I m a bit confused. If DSAed into IP track can exit and join another IP school due to the commitment that student must finish IP program?

Last time I think someone said If DSAed into RGS for IP (for example), student will not be allowed to switch to another IP school (to continue IP) unless exit from IP program because of the DSA commitment. Can do O'level or apply poly.

Only non-DSA students are allowed to switch to another IPJC, I think?

My friend who transferred JC was many years ago. That time no DSA. DSA offer is a contract so school has the right not to allow a transfer.
