My son enjoys his student life there. He was not from the affiliated primary schools but has no problem integrating into the school and mixes around very well with his classmates. As far as I know and from my intereaction with his classmates and their parents, they appear to be really nice and polite.

And when his classmates do come to my home for their projects, they are well-behaved and well-mannered. I'm impressed, actually.

And Dr Ong is a very friendly and nice principal.

Yes, yes, there are some black sheep in every school.

For me, it's just a personal preference due to some other reasons, and anyway, I was referring more to a choice of primary school for DS.

By the way, one of our friends' DS was from from ACS Primary and now in ACS(I). The boy is extremely well-behaved. At the end of the day, it is the upbringing and the guidance that the child has received from parents that counts.

Yes it is the black sheep that is tainting....so I am in search of the white ones to change my views too.... I am sure they exist as in all schools. However, I feel the degree of naughtiness can really get overboard these days.

I am not familiar with rugby games. However, from what I watched on TV/movies, the players in rugby games worn head guards, huge padded attires, and maybe even knee guard? Do the players in Singapore wear these safety features?

You really have no idea what rugby is. What you have stated is American Football.

Go to youtube and search for All blacks vs Tonga etc etc and you know what real rugby is. They do wear headguards but thats for the scrums. Only 1 guy wears it, thats the guy to catch the ball during a scrum. He wears it to protect his ears from getting ripped off during the scuffle.

Boys are boys and men are men. Whatever excesses, eventually people mellow. So yeah, ACS schoolboys are insufferable but I think they grow up reasonably ok, almost as good as SA boys.....

Just the other day, I fetched my P3 boy home. While crossing a road inside our condo, I told my boy to watch for cars. A ACS boy who was walking ahead of me, next to my boy immediately hold out his hand to sort of shield my boy from crossing. I thought that was really sweet of the ACS boy.
