RGS email followed by shall for both CO and rejection? Or CO only? This is for Specific language domains I recall.

<<< yes...
thought DSA students given CO and who accepted the CO : only need 200, to clear PSLE ?taurbear:
I was sharing at a dinner party last evening on the CO received by DS n one young secondary boy said this to my face in front of my DS \"That school is a very good school, the students in there are very clever! You should have applied to my school! DSA students only have to meet cut off point of 225 instead of 240!\"
i was not happy with that comment...
Now, raised to 225, in this Sec school u mentioned ? <<< yep.. not sure if this boy is right
240 is the official psle Cut-off-point, for this school ? -

Agree, lack of sleep is a problem.googaga:
Exactly. Many are sleep deprived too due to the many deadlines from assignments. They too have their fair share of hard work and expectations to meet. In addition, their papers are different from mainstream except PSLE papers. Please be kind & refrain from showing unnecessary discrimination to these kids.
:goodpost:
Unless you are a parent of a Gepper, you will not understand the amount of hard work they go through.
My DS sleep at 1045 pm to 1 am ( yes in the morning) on average. Good days at 9.45 pm.
No he didn't get any 'free rides' in DSA , but got a WL after interview and test. He is not the only one with a WL in class, some got rejection too. Some of them kept quiet when other boasted of getting COs. I think because he is only gifted in 1 subject ( i.e. translate to super weak in all other subjects which give a not so good average grade). Just getting great marks/bagged top awards for 1 subject is useless for DSA ( at least for him).
No tuition & must live up to teachers' expectations constantly (not mine). It's stressful for him at time , even I feel it from some of the teachers' emails addressed to me. So it's not a great thing to be labelled as Gepper unless you are really gifted in all/most subjects. Yes, then maybe those Geppers will be offered 'free rides' in DSA.
No flaming pls, just giving a honest feedback. -
Does ACSI have a WL?

I empathize with what your GEP child hv to go thro - late nights, juggle projects & usual P6 load, no time for tuition/home guide to close weak subj gaps.

We shld be kind in our expression for young children. Labeling anyone in the past or present as \"free-riders\" really shld abstain. MOE shld review & be more pro-active in improving the system. It is good that they're moving towards direction. -

This gives a new thought! Why have a gifted program for all subjects when there are some child who are stronger in a particular? Maybe MOE should do it like the 3rd Language for Secondary and have special programs for Maths, Science, etc and this will allow students with specific strengths to be nurtured and no need to have GEP school but have GEP subject centre! Stress would be lesser on these Kids and less enrichment centre trying to make a buck out of parents and students dont need to study for so many subjects!
