2018 P1 registration exercise for 2019 intake
-
Hi I'm new here!
Missed PV for 2019 intake. I'm staying in Pasir Ris and would love to send my daughter to either Whitesands Primary or Pasir Ris Primary (both NOT WITHIN 2KM).
Any kind soul out there to advise if I can still try my luck for the 2 schools PV? Thanks in advance. :thankyou: -

If you miss the dateline, it's game over. You can't turn back the clock. Time to focus resources on securing a place in Phase 2C in OTHER schools.Hi I'm new here!

I agree. You should focus on other schools nearby to increase your chance in P2C.

Yes. The deadline for PV for the 2019 in-take was 30 June this year. It is too late and no schools will accept applications for that batch now.

I have a 2012 dragon boy (#1) and a 2014 boy (#2) who will follow footsteps of #1. I have 2A1 (>2km) at Fairfield Methodist and 2B (within 1km) to ACPS & ACJS. I’m hearing a lot of good things on FMPS - strong discipline, very dedicated teachers, good T-score ranking (unofficial) which translates to good academic results? and affiliated sec school; my inclination towards ACS Family of Schools was recently bogged down by concerns on discipline, "rich-man school" hence developing "rich-kid-syndrome and complacency, seemingly not-so-good academic performance in ACJS based on ranking (unofficial, but if i can recall ACJS was at #4X, vs ACPS #1X below #15, and FMPS #18/19)
My initial strategy was to secure a spot at FMPS at 2A1 (which I’m hoping would not be a problem based on previous stats) first then withdraw & re-apply for either ACPS/ACJS at 2B subject to stats of course but now, I’m in a dilemma - which school for my boys? Any advice for me? -

Hi I would suggest just sticking with your guaranteed seat at Fairfield. Unless you gauge that a co-ed environment would not suit your boys. You would probably have some feedback from your elder boy's K1 teachers by now.I have a 2012 dragon boy (#1) and a 2014 boy (#2) who will follow footsteps of #1. Btw my boy is at P1 in ACJS. He is thriving there and thoroughly enjoying his days there. Here is an article which drove me to seek out a boys school for him: http://www.parents.com/kids/education/help-son-succeed-in-school/
The ACJS parents and kids that I know are very down-to-earth and not arrogant or elitist. Whether the school ranks well academically, to me is not relevant. What's more relevant is my boy loves his academic work among all the other things, and is doing well so far. That's not to say that the teachers do not do their job - in fact they provide remedial lessons for those not faring well. -

1. One is in Phase 2C, other is in Phase 2CS. That can't be a dilemma unless you are saying to opt for SMPS in Phase 2C.
2. Without knowing the distance / group you are in, it's impossible to tell. Besides, both will require balloting and it may be wishful thinking to assume that there will be places left in either schools for P2CS. -
Hi,
Inputs required on which option to go for:
Option 1:
Within 1km, phase 2C but definitely balloting for SC < 1km (based on many years history)
Option 2:
Bet 2-3km, phase 2C but undersubscribed for past 2-3 years in this phase (altho prior to that there were balloting in this phase for SC > 2km)
Thanks! -

RGPS is a gep centre. If you think your child can thrive in the environment, then can consider. St Margarets has affiliation to its Sec. This will help take some stress off PSLE.Raffles girls phase 2C and St margarets 2Cs...latter is closer to home...
