FYI, the actual reporting day will only be known after the S1 posting exercise has closed. So that will probably be in November.
The reason SOTA is able to move forward the reporting day is because everyone who gained entry to SOTA will know for sure on PSLE results day (end Nov) whether or not they are successfully enrolled. You’ll receive this info together with your PSLE results slip.
Most schools don’t take 100% DSA, but SOTA does, hence they are able to offer some flexibility. If you’re sure your kiddo will get 200 and above and you have a CO and are going to put SOTA as your first choice, you can even purchase the uniform now. haha.
Hope that helps! -
Oh thank you Lexis. This is much clearer! I think MOE rep needs to get onto KP Forum! Much appreciated!

same sentiments somemore my only child
Thanks... what a change from primary school... sob sob.. gonna miss my DDlexis:
The time table is mostly the same for all the kids, with Dance and Voice students having slightly longer days on 2-3 days of the week (ending at 7-730 pm, but there are usually a couple of breaks for them throughout the day).
Officially, the earliest time they can leave school is 1.15 pm. My dd (LA) ends between 1.45 - 2.45 (2x a week, depending on odd/even week), 5.25 pm(2x a week) and 4.55 pm (on Wed, but they start at 850 am on wednesdays). I think for Year 1s, most of them eat lunch in school. Lunch is usually an hour.
On late days, they also get a short break at 245 (in addition to recess).

Hi,
Any news yet?? Thanks.
Drop you a PM. -
Hi. My DD (not even sure what DD stands for??) received CO for SOTA and also a letter notifying us that she has been shortlisted (unexpectedly!) for Scholarship interview. Does anyone know how many in each cohort are offered scholarships? Any experienced parents/students here that may be able to shed some light as to what my DD can expect in the interview?

This should be the David Marshall Scholarship. Can't remember how many percent for each Year 1 cohort (15% maybe?). If things haven't changed, the interviews are conducted in small groups of shortlisted students together with the principal and the VP. Parents can sit in and listen in. They will ask questions and get the students to talk and at least in the session I attended a few years back with my child, the questions relate back to the values the school hope to inculcate http://www.sota.edu.sg/sota-education/sota-curriculum/affective-programmes/character-and-citizenship-education.
After the first year, scholars have to be both in the top 30% of their cohort in academics and in the top 30% in their art form for their scholarships to continue each year. -
Rstkiki thank you very much for the information! Most helpful. Very reassuring that it’s in groups too. Much appreciated!
