      Hi,

Inputs required on which option to go for:

      Option 1:
Within 1km, phase 2C but definitely balloting for SC < 1km (based on many years history)

      Option 2:
Bet 2-3km, phase 2C but undersubscribed for past 2-3 years in this phase (altho prior to that there were balloting in this phase for SC > 2km)

      Thanks!
If you are registering in 2018 for 2019 intake, that's the Dragon babies batch. Expect the competition to be at least 1 level more intense than the past years' history. Option 2 seems safer. Seems.

If you can live with the schools in 2Cs, then can consider option 1.

As long as u have a backup school under Phase 2C Supp & u don’t mind the backup school, & u are safe, no need to ballot for backup-school in 2CS, then proceed to try your luck balloting under 2C, for this SAP big-name primary school

You also need to consider: can your child survive higher Chinese? Take a look at the HCL textbooks and assessment books at Popular. The expectation & stress level at SAP schools is way up there.

And mid-range Catholic girls schools are far better than (the) mid-range Catholic boys school (SJIJ?) If your child is a girl, I'd say just go straight for the 2C option 2, especially if it's Marymount Convent. Nice holistic and loving, low-pressure environment where she can learn Chinese at her own pace.

Ya, I am already so worried for the Dragon babies batch next year. Will be very exciting to watch! But my SIL living in Sengkang is still very chill/blur/dunno thinking what... :snooze:

Ya definitely thinking abt it carefully already.
Maybe try option 1 but if can't get, option 2 school for 2S (ballot for SC>2km for this yr).

If both schools are under phase 2C, you also need to plan your strategy and agree with your spouse what is your balloting appetite. 200%? If 400% are u still applying for Option 1? ATS staff have been very nice the past few years to post up the distance breakdown every few hours. But you never know what will happen next year. U know u must station yourself there to find out the latest number as the time ticks by till closing time? Then if the numbers go beyond your agreed comfort level, plan your escape route to School 2 with minimum half hour buffer. If u miss the closing time, you will be left with the 2C(S) school.
