Club SAHM

kids_r_innocent:
Have been a SAHM before I gave birth dd2. So I've been taking care of her since day 1
How sticky is ur dd2 to u? As for mine, my dd2 (when she was younger) used to cry and throw her trantrum even when i need to take a shower or poo poo in the toilet. She would insist to follow me wherever i go. :x
I carried her throughout her waking moment from baby till she became too heavy for me. When she was toddler, we went on a holiday without her & she η»ι£ at my mom's house because she missed me too much. She still follows me everywhere around the house everyday. We spend a good amount of time hugging in between homework. When she's tired or in her tantrum mood, she will say 'I want mommy I want mommy' and doesn't want anyone else to pacify her. -

he is P2.
Tot girls are more sticky to mummy in comparison to boys? How sticky is ur ds1? How old is he now?
he needs me to accompany him until he fall asleep; when he wakes up at night, it upsets him if i am not around. or in the middle of the night when he wakes up, he will crawl over to my side and sleep at the other end of my pillow.
when we go out, he holds my hand even though the place is not crowded.
he likes me to sayang him. he said that he missed me in school.
guess he missed out on all those earlier and now is pay back time for me.
i also blame it on our living conditions cos we are still co-sleeping due to insufficient bedrooms; things are certainly going to change when he gets his own room when we move out from our ILs place 3rd Qtr of this yr. -

Sounds like my dd1

Sometimes I felt like being stalked. The moment I step away from dd1's side, she will scream 'mommy!'
At least my dd2 is sticky in an adorable way. She can still do homework independently in her room while I'm hanging clothes in the kitchen. My dd1 cannot function if I'm out of her sight. Perhaps immensely jealous of the close bond I shared with dd2
How do you deal with siblings rivalry? -

ds2 is still at a 'blurblur' and cute stage and listens to ds1 quite a fair bit and ds1 has a way of coaxing ds2 to go his way or compromise, so siblings rivalry is still manageble for me. ds2 is an easy-going dude and ds1 is a bit fussy, so at least i don't get to deal with 2 headstrong boys at home. can see that ds1 quite dote on ds2.
How do you deal with siblings rivalry?
it is when 2 of them wants my attention at the same time when i get headache. -
at times when i'm bushed and need a nap, i'll get ds1 to take care of ds2. so ds1 will arrange for tea break (eg packet milo and biscuits or bread with jam) and draw up programme (eg play or draw or 'teach' ds2 words). ds1 is very happy to do all these, cos when i nap, it means that his home assignment for that day (ie assessment books) will be cancelled.

Thanks for your encouragement, Minnie. Hopefully, my sacrifice is worth it.
If given the chance, I wouldn't go back to full-time work, too much office politics.
, but would like to build up my blogshop, write some books (maybe children's books) and perhaps give English tuition...

Hi Angelight, I share the same feeling as you. I think there are a lot of SAHMs around like you, highly educated and had a decent job before giving it up for the family. I have an old classmates who was the top in the class all thru secondary school, and later got an MBA from an Ivy League school. In the end, she also became an SAHM after quiting her management consultant job.Angelight:
Another SAHM reporting here. Wondering if any of you mums feel your life revolves around your kid and DH and nothing else? I feel this way alot of the time. Especially when I'm a degree holder and yet not contributing to the work economy, sometimes feel that all my years of study have gone wasted...
although I never regret sacrificing my career for my family, especially for DD, seeing her grow and achieve every milestone is a satisfaction no career can provide. But I do wish sometimes that I have some kind of career or work I can do to fulfill my self actualisation.
That's probably why I set up my blogshop...and hopefully, write my own book one day. :xedfingers:
However, all is not wasted as according to some research, the mother's education level is the dominant factor in determining a child's achievement. So your DD is lucky to have you at home :celebrate: ! -
Your're welcome Angelight

I can't help cuddling my DS all the time as he's just too sweet  . He's turning 4 soon but still looks very baby. Since everyone likes to hug him, sometimes he behaves even more like a baby. Wonder if this is not good for his development :? . -
Happy Mother's Day !!!
