      Hi Pench

Ya, agree with u! cant depend on teacher, not that they are not gd, rather they seem to have so much to teach but so little time.

My dd has 3 maths workbks (shaping maths, Fabian Ng & My Pal HW). Teacher actually has no time to finish going thru 1 topic and skip to a new chapter instead, saying will \"come back again\" .That was sometime mid April, till today, still in his bag (become preserved veg) haha!
Today, it's a blessing if teacher can go thru last yr maths & sci papers that he had done. 🙏
      Tweet/Pench,
Can't depend on the teachers, they don't have time to cover so much with all the CCA and whatever thrown in. If coaching kids happened during our time, our parents would have gone bonkers. Now when kids have exams, we as parents are being tested too.

My son's teacher has yet to complete Science home practice and unit tests for Interactions.

          Pench,
Son told me his CL compo pic was about a boy forgetting to bring his umbrella, getting wet and falling sick. He told me he forgot how to write 落汤鸡. Last year's Science paper wasn't easy at all.

              Hi Pench,

Asked son if teacher has marked his compo yet...he said teacher didn't say anything. Told me teachers will go through the exam papers from next Friday to following Mon.

As for chinese story book, my son has never borrowed any before...told me they are boring. As for language, hubby & I speak to each other in English mostly or else some Cantonese but hardly Mandarin.

                Hi mummies,

                I have a boy in P2.
Can check with of u have kids in P2 too?
Just decided to come back tyo this forum after a long long break from here..😉

How did your kids find the paper 1 for both chinese and english? My boy who is usually fast complaint that 50 Min not enough for EL compo leh .. he said it took him almost 40 mins to think n write it out and no time to even check for spelling mistakes..and yet he seems to have missed out quite a little of details after i went thru when him after that 😢

Btw, E3, read abt you getting your child to memorise templates for compo. That 's a good idea to help them in writing. I do that too in a way. I will also make use of model compos which are related to what he is going to write to let him pick out useful words and phrases or even ideas.

Btw, did your kids teacher say anything abt drawing models for math paper problem sums??

Hi drickymummy, my dd was able to write almost two full pages for the eng compo, she had read a similiar model compo so was able to express quite freely. As for chi compo, she wrote one full page and a little behind the square paper. She wrote more than what the picture showed to give it a proper conclusion. For both, she still managed to have a little time to check.

My dd's teacher left it rather open to the kids regarding model drawing as at current, the problem sums could still be solved without the use of models. However, during normal practises in class, they were encouraged to use models. It will be very useful for upper primary math if they need to apply Before and After concept or Working Backward concept. I will expose my dd to questions that must use model to solve so she sees the importance of using it.

                    Dear MUMMIES,

I know this occasion falls just before Eng Paper II, but I would like to wish all of you a HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY.

Actually, I had forgotten about this...was reading yesterday's ST and wondering :? why there were so many ads on Mothers' Day. Then my daughter asked me, 'You forgot about Mothers' Day?'

:thankyou: Yes, a wonderous Mothers' Day to all! My no2 dd came back with a Mother's Day class-made craftwork. Haha. I guess only those still in pre-school will do something for their mums. My dd's Art class on Thursday was used to conduct Chinese revision.

                        Hi E3,

My daughter came home yesterday with a card she made in school. She asked me, ‘how could you forget it’s Mother’s Day?’ I am going to find a nice box for all the sweet pieces she has made in school.
I told her that I’ve been kept busy coaching her brother’s exam. Anyway, it’s so commercialized now and doesn’t make any sense to make restaurants richer by falling for their marketing gimmicks.
