I think she took longer than necessary to do her MCQs....
maybe circle , write a most possible answer and move on.
but dun skip qns, in case later no time to relook or the shading is wrong.

I think she took longer than necessary to do her MCQs....
Try step-by-step training :-
1. Ask her to read qn
2. Ask her what her answer will be (strategy is to ensure she train her brain to generate the appropriate science concept words).
3. Get her to write down in point form
4. Ask her how will she explain it in structured sentence - string them sequentially.
5. Check she had done in details & not just give end answer but forgot to explain details of processes, etc
Just practicing paper after paper by timing alone, may not help. Diagnose if there are other issues that slow her down. You might want to time her separately for Booklet A. DC usually completes Booklet A within 20 minutes at 99.9% accuracy. Spend more time on Booklet B. Ensure she knows how to craft her science concepts appropriately.
Once you train her this way, then let her do an exam paper using this strategy. Usually, kids get stumped not know how to explain & write for OE qn, s'times this freezes them up. Encourage her that she CAN DO it!

For MCQ parents pls train your kids to do shading straight into OAS. A frd's DC top in class yearly but one year, whilst transferring his circled answers, he skipped a line on the OAS & failed his paper. No excuse & school cannot accept his reason. It was a hard lesson!
We can train our kids to use a watch to time themselves to complete Booklet A within X minutes (the usual time each child uses). Progressively, get them to better them timing. So, 1st try uses 30 min, after 2/3 MCQ papers, if she managed to do in shorter timing of 25 min, pls celebrate her achievement with her! :rahrah:
She shld build confidence towards actual PSLE. :imcool:
Train them to move on & not get stuck with a difficult qn. Make a mark or dog ear to answer when all qns completed in first round. Some might prefer to use 3M tags, whatever works for yr child. This ensures DC answer most qns & gain maximum marks. With balance of time check answers & go back to analyze the difficult qns left blank earlier. Time is precious!
It is better than having insufficient time coz DC trying to figure out the difficult qns earlier. Usually, it may mean loosing the \"higher value\" qns or loosing marks on qns your DC cld've easily answered & gain scores.
JMHO to train kids on these strategies & help them be aware of limited time during exams.
Encourage them that they can do it! 加油!

Estéema, your son can finish 28 questions in 20 mins!?! That’s very very fast! Mine usually takes more than 45 mins (sometimes up to 1 hour if questions are tricky) for Booklet B… She is usually okay with Booklet B, but if too little time for Booklet B also no use…I think I will try to train her and time her just on a Booklet A…

The basis is DC must hv strong science concept at finger tips for Booklet A & not to waste time. Booklet B requires more techniques & hinges on very steady basic concepts used in Booklet A. -
