          Qing2:
Currently looking for a Chinese Tutor for my boy who is in Pri 4. Prefer to be in Sengkang area and 1-1 tuition. Prefer to have fellow parents to recommend.

          Needs help in the following:-
          - weak in 作文
          - lack of confidence in Oral Exam (need to brush up on his communication)
          - cant answer in Comprehension

Hope to start him in July 2017.

          TIA.
Just my 2cent thought, 1 to 1 might not be a good choice. You have to see whether your son can focus better in 1 to 1 or in smaller groups. I tried 1 to 1 for my K1 son but he hates all the attention his tutor shower on him. He hates Chinese even more. Therefore I switched to a enrichment centre and now he improves in both writing and speaking. It takes time to make him like the language. Though travelling to and fro the centre can be hectic but it is worthwhile that he looks forward to go to the class.

From what I know P5 will increase in the weightage and difficulties in the Chinese paper. It will be more difficult than in P3/P4. Therefore I also enrol my P2 girl in the writing class to prepare her early.

Hi, I read through some forum saying that some non-SAP primary school starts higher Chinese before P5, is that true? How can I find out which school offers higher Chinese like as early as P2 or P3? Thanks!

Hi, wish to share with all a good Chinese tutor in the East. She is kind and patient with students. She has proven records of helping weaker students to sustain their interest in the language and at the same time pull their results up. She is an experienced preschool and primary school tutor. Please pm me if interested. Thanks!

I was her student in primary school and my Chinese improved a lot since I met her. Wasn’t a straight A student before I met her but subsequently achieved A* for Chinese and Distinction for HCL. I developed an interest in Chinese Writing and entered Dunman High School. Thanks to her I managed to found my Forte in languages and took up H2 Translation (Chinese) for A level. Currently awaiting results and wish to continue to offer tuition for primary school students(I was a student tutor for 3 years before I decided to take a break for A levels).

Chinese is not a difficult language to learn and the most important part in to build the confidence in children so that they stay interested in the language and will be capable of doing well in the subject.

Personally find these 2 series pretty useful and suitable for pre-school kids.

Hi, I’m looking for a private tutor for my daughter to help her with Chinese. She is currently in K2. She has very low confidence in the language, so we prefer someone who is very patient and able to guide her in a fun/lively manner to cultivate her interest in the language as well as someone who is familiar with the current MOE syllabus. Kindly PM me if you have anyone to recommend please.
