    • RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos

      Hi,

I have a W.hoffmann upright piano to let go. Bought it as a second hand around 10 years ago. Piano is rarely played but heater is on 24/7.

Piano is in good condition(8/10), keys are leveled and as white as before. Outer appearance is of a nice maroon or brownish colour depending on how you view it as and still shiny as it is wiped frequently.

Last tuning done 1 year ago and 1 string needs to be replaced.

Viewing of piano is welcomed for all sincere potential buyers.

Please pm for more details or to offer a price. ☺️

    • RE: Learning Chinese (Primary/Preschool)

Hi, wish to share with all a good Chinese tutor in the East. She is kind and patient with students. She has proven records of helping weaker students to sustain their interest in the language and at the same time pull their results up. She is an experienced preschool and primary school tutor. Please pm me if interested. Thanks!

I was her student in primary school and my Chinese improved a lot since I met her. Wasn’t a straight A student before I met her but subsequently achieved A* for Chinese and Distinction for HCL. I developed an interest in Chinese Writing and entered Dunman High School. Thanks to her I managed to found my Forte in languages and took up H2 Translation (Chinese) for A level. Currently awaiting results and wish to continue to offer tuition for primary school students(I was a student tutor for 3 years before I decided to take a break for A levels).

Chinese is not a difficult language to learn and the most important part in to build the confidence in children so that they stay interested in the language and will be capable of doing well in the subject.

    • RE: All About Preparing For Primary One

      Hi,

I usually engage the younger ones by making use of handicrafts during story telling and reading. The older ones, I will play some games with them like competing who finish the piece of work first to get how many sweets. I will also include some body movements during lessons.

      Wow! That is so encouraging.

With regards to third language which did you take? Is it for 4 or 6 years?
I took Japanese. Everyone who is enrolled will be taking the O level at the end of Year 4(provided one does not withdraw) and will be given the choice to continue it at A level if results and portfolio are good. I withdrew at the end of Year 2 as there is a GPA criteria that students must attain at the end of year 2 to take on 9au in year 3. I decided to go for the normal 8au without third language instead.
