I only cook dinner. One vege and chicken or pork with mushroom or tofu. Sometimes, fried egg or steamed egg. Seldom take seafood. Weekend, we eat out.

If I eat alone, I can cook little rice, steam egg with meat ball in the rice cooker. Guess mine is not fit for human consumption

Hubby takes his lunch in camp.I try not to do complicated dishes as time taken to prepare, cook and wash will eat into the DDs' study time.Food is mostly steamed in a mini steamer.

We never put salt, soy sauce or MSG into our food either. We agreed that home cooked food is cost saving and healthier in the long run.

Mine is even more not for human consumption either.Rely on the natural flavoring to season the food.

Funny thing is DDs never complained about the food.

Yes, for homecooked meals, we use brown mixed with white rice. We don’t add MSG. If any salt or oil to be added, it will be very little to “save cost”

DH prefers calrose rice as they are quite versatile. Can use them to make sushi, risotto or paella when we request for it on weekends.

We never had pork either because DH refuses to eat them.DDs,my sis and I are the only people who consume pork in the house.

Our only seasonings are olive oil, herbs and pepper.DH only uses the salt in our house to soak his cockles or clams when he cooks them occasionally and also to disinfect our water bottles.

The food that I cook are normally without salt or sauce for myself. All my lunch meals are either steamed or I will eat a salad or a sandwich. If it’s for family, I add a little salt and some sauce.

My carbo I usually go for brown rice, yam, pumpkin, potato, sweet potato.

Veges: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, ladyfinger, eggplant, bell peppers, kailan

Meat: minced pork, tilapia, sea bass, salmon, black pomfret, tuna, chicken thigh or chicken breasts

I eat eggs and tofu also. Sometimes I cook chicken/fish soup and throw in whatever I can find in my fridge.

Fruit: normally whatever I can find in my fridge

Sometimes I will just make wholemeal toast with mashed avocado, tomato and tuna and it’s my lunch already. Easy peasy. My kids are very easy going with food. My hubby is the troublesome one.
