Is it for your Child...? CCA usage?

Well I brought a 2nd hand Sony DSLR camera for my DD for her use in CCA .
      Was about SGD400.

You can go to a ClubSnap Forum to look for it...

      Good Luck! :xedfingers:

i recently bought a Olympus interchangeable lens one @ 380.

        it’s a 2011 model. that’s why so cheap.

take note of those Harvey Norman, Courts promotion for old model cameras.
Saw an advert today there’s one selling $249. quite good deal.

In case you might be interested, I actually received a mail drop, audio house has this promotion going on… 2nd item at 50% off.

i am planning to check it out this weekend cause my fridge is a bit faulty. Think can buy fridge and TV then save some money. Probably works to your advantage for bigger purchases. But the 50% off makes it worth to probably buy a better camera that half the price is $300 when initial price is $600??

Between that price range, probably only the Canon IXUS range.

What’s your opinion on getting a camera when hp already has photo taking function?
Should I up my budget to get a better camera?

What's your opinion on getting a camera when hp already has photo taking function?

I use my mobile phone as my go-to point-and-shoot camera because it's always there. It's a matter of convenience more than anything else.

However, the mobile phone camera is incomparable to a real camera, even a compact camera. For one, the size of the sensor on the phone is tiny compared to the one on the compact camera. Generally, bigger sensor = more data captured in a photographer (note: a badly taken photograph will still be a badly taken photograph, albeit with more data in the badly taken photograph). Furthermore, the optics, aka glass, on the camera is definitely better than on the phone. Thus, it's easier to get sharper and better images from a proper camera. In situation where it's very challenging for a phone camera sensor, such as low light, high contrast, etc., you will start to appreciate a proper camera

At the end of the day, it's about your preference and what you really need it for. If you want / need to take photos that capture your once-in-a-lifetime trip or holiday, or to print out for keepsakes, I will suggest that you use a proper camera.
