      Dino:

the force of this vacuum cleaner getting stronger and stronger as the years goes by!!!!
although i didn't want to push son so hard, there was this 'invisible pressure'...and despite the daily coaching, his results were just average in primary school. our focus was on him most of the time when he was in lower primary, come p3 and then p5, pressure gets worse year after year :frustrated:

I think some of them maybe going for the parents old school, or siblings already in school outside bukit merah area. Because if i see from my neighborhood itself, actually have few kids around my daughter age, but they didn’t try for RMPS or others, some of them are going for some famous schools (due to having chance at earlier phases). Some even bought house to move near the famous school to get a chance into it (but eventually balloted out i heard).

I was thinking its good if the kids that my daughter met occasionally below the block or at the playground can be her classmate or something like that haha… but very less kids that we knew going for same school.

When will you be registering your kid for P1?

Not sure whether you are aware, the school will have a new principal next year.

Hi all, need some advice. It's dragon baby's year for 2018 enrollment and spaces will be slightly more competitive

We could get my #1 into Zhangde under phase 2A2. The problem is that we have heard some stories about Zhang De because all our neighbours' kids go there. (Mainly of a particular music teacher and of teachers who doesn't explain well.) We were told to try Alexandra Primary because the school is new and the teachers have more time for the kids. However, we are 1-2km from that school. The chances that it would go into a ballot for >1km would be high as it seems extremely popular. By 2019 they will be at full capacity and the attention will be diluted.

We are thinking of trying another school in phase 2C, Radin Mas is our best bet (<1km). (In 2017 there was balloting for <1KM). Likely this will continue given it is a dragon year. If we fail to get into 2C, I don't like any of the other potential choices with vacancies at 2C( Gan Eng Seng, Blangah Rise).

My husband thinks we should just try the ballot and have Gan Eng Seng as backup.
I am uncomfortable with the uncertainty and would prefer to hear good stories of Zhang De or any advice that you might have.

                  :thankyou: .

there will be black sheep (teachers) in every school.
whether the attention will be diluted or not, parents are expected to follow up and not leave everything to the teachers. if you are staying more than 1km from alexandra primary, you won't have a chance to ballot.
if yours is a girl, you have CHIJ kellock and also Cantonment Primary to consider.

Wonder if He will have the same "impact" like Alexandra Primary school?

Note, fyi: APS had two "heavy weight" principal and vice principal: Mrs Lim Bee Lay, had formerly helmed Maha Bodhi School, while its vice-principal, Ms Chan Yan Hoon, used to serve in the same post in CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School (Primary).
