when the kids are unwell, the first thing he will say, 'see doctor'. :slapshead:

for minor ailments, i will give them medication unless they are still down for 2 days. usually they will be bouncing around after 1 good night of rest, unless there is a bad flu bug going around.
kids are so big now...unless they are toddlers, then there is cause for worry. both of them have a little medicine kit in their bags....for daughter, i always remind her 1 paracetamol (for kids) every 6 hours.
son has medicine for sore throat, body/headache & charcoal (in case he has diarrhoea and also for wind).

        Ladies,

After reading about the insensitive of the men did it ever cross your mind that if now our hubby did not even bothered to accompany us to see doctor or not even bothered if we are sick then what happens when we are old ? So, we can only rely on our children ? I thought our spouse are supposed to be the closest to us and we should accompany one another to the doctor ? Or maybe I am too naive to think this way ?
Ideally, yes, our spouse should be the one that we lean on in times of need. Unfortunately, not everyone have a spouse whom they can fully lean on.

Aunt passed away recently after a year of battle with cancer. Uncle was there with her but it was clear that she could not fully lean on him. He was quite lost and in fact, aunt ended up worrying more for him than for herself. They are childless so we nieces form a tag team to support them. Uncle said he does not know what he is going to do when she goes. Now that she is gone, we are helping him pick up the pieces.

Basically, I believe that the extended family bond is just as important as the nucleus family bond. To lean fully on only 1 person also puts a lot of stress on that person.

Personally I like to go to the doctor alone.
In term of reliance - sorry, to me, there is no security like money in the bank.

I think most wives portray the image that they can handle it so maybe that’s why the guys react this way?
