      Hi

There are some useful info on page 110 and 114 of the forum decision. You may want to view it to have clearer understanding of the curriculum plan in SST

My elder studying in sst, she enjoy the school life. I like the school environment also. If your kid like this school, just go for it, is a good school.

i am just very concerned about the change in teachers especially in graduating year. Another former SST student feedback that his english teacher change four times over his sec 3 and 4, the last teacher left 3 months before O level, and that was just last year. He says there is a shortage of teachers in SST. This greatly impacted my decision if to take up the CO from SST…

I would once again encourage you to raise this concern this coming Sat during the briefing session. May I know whether are you in the 1st or 2nd session.

I really like to hear what the Principal or Vice Principal has to say about this issue.

Just out of curiosity, how did this former SST student fare for his/her O level ? :?

                Hi

With an aggregate score of 10 was indeed a good result and I assumed that he must be happy with the results that he has achieved in SST.

Fyi, I am also in the first session.

If I have gotten the information right, you mentioned that your DC is also \"sitting on the fence' about the CO from SST, right? I hope it is not because of this Teacher's issue but more so as there were other potential DSA CO to consider about seriously. 😄

If there were indeed other DSA CO to consider, then maybe it is more objective to compare across all these offers with the same set of guidelines that you have. Guidelines such as teacher's issues, curriculum offered, distance etc. In my opinion, it is wiser to do so as it gives you a better overview of the strengths and potential of each school as well as the drawbacks or weaknesses if there are any. Then I would say your decision at the end of the day is holistic one rather than a one-sided.

If there is only one CO, then all the more you need to consider if there were pertinent issues that bother you. But at the end of the day, we all have the interest of our child at heart. But I also must say that your DC had done well for going through the selection process and for a 12-year-old to go through CRT and GAT with selection camp is not easy. Well, I must also add that for SST to give a CO to your DC, the school sees the potential in your DC. So, to discount your DC of a chance, it have to be an agreement from him/her as well.

With all these being said, my DS has only one CO and that is from SST. So to say that since my DS has only one CO and therefore I do not need to reconsider the opinion is an understatement. I just asked him if he really wants it and since the decision is a positive one, I will support him all the way.

Just my personal opinion. No offence, I hope in my sharing.

Just like to share that my daughter is now in Sec 1 at SST. She enjoys and look forward to go to school everyday. Since the first day of school, the peer support leaders and seniors gave very warm welcome, support and guidance to the juniors. School learning culture is very friendly. My daughter sometimes seek help from her seniors if she feels doubt about the new subject she learns. The teachers are very helpful and caring too. There was once when my daughter was absent for the Science lab practical lesson but upon request, the teacher stayed after school hours and gave her individual coaching on the lab practical lesson. Also for maths which is one of the most challenging subject for her in SST, the teacher will spend extra effort to guide her closely. There are remedial lessons for students who need help and they are encouraged to seek help early. My daughter together with few of her schoolmates will make appointment to consult their math teacher for clarification about math questions especially before exam time. I must say that I have confidence and trust that the school will do its best for the students.

                    Thanks everyone for the sharing.

Mqjust- the extra warmth and care by the teachers was indeed a morale booster.
