Chung Cheng High (Yishun)

Tokidoki:
Based on the previous COP of 237 for admission to CCHY.. The standard of the school should be able to achieve between 93-95% of students from Express stream eligible for junior college.Academic Achievements
In the 2016 GCE 'O' Level Examinations, we saw 90.2% of our students from Express stream eligible for a junior college education while 100% were eligible for the polytechnic courses. Our students also performed above the national averages in terms of percentage distinction.

It's 90.2% not 99%.
For 90.2%, I would think is abit too low -

We are contemplating between Nan Chiau High and Chung Cheng (Yishun) (Chung Cheng Main was too far for us)...
Hm cchm is better because first of all itโs sap (which means can use the hmt points), Chinese culture appreciation programme is offered, and the school only takes in chinese or students who take chinese as their mother tongue. Note: cchy isnt sap. The mep programme offered by cchm is comparable to many other schools. Cchm also has more ccas (like track, netball, table tennis etc). Lastly: cchm is pure express (no na and nt) so i guess the lessons conducted will at a faster pace. However cchy has a pretty high distinction rate too, 99% of cohort are eligible for jc and 100% for poly (im not too sure about cchm though) both are affliated to nyjc so i guess its a safety net to fall back on during o levels.
So technically as an SAP school Nan Chiau does offer similar programmes as Chung Cheng Main (Heard Nan Chiau's sciences not bad). Both environment are impressive to me and my wife. Now considering distance (tho travelling time almost the same fm Woodlands), culture and whether All express cohort or a smaller Express cohort.
Anyone having same contemplation as us?

How is Chung Cheng (Yishun)'s discipline like? Is it adequately strict?
Sometimes see boys behaving rudely outside so abit worried for my girl. But if in the school the discipline strict then not an issue? -

Is in Sengkang, 2 bus stops from Sengkang MRT by 161/156/159. (Check the maps on ur fone for directions)
The programmes and subjects can see the wiki, looks quite comprehensive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nan_Chiau_High_School). Think dat will give a clearer idea. -

I would suggest go for the openhouses (Nan Chiau High's openhouse is tmrw). U can ask the teachers abt the cohort also.

Think for CCHY still can go in to ask for a consultation with the respective teachers. (or u can call in if u wish) Since the openhouse was bef the PSLE release.

Weโre contemplating as well, weโre soon moving from tampines to sembawang.
Cchm is my dd dream school, and she got some friends going to cchm as well.
But the distance really put me off. -
Can anyone advice , between Chung Cheng high (Yishun) and Yishun town secondary , which is better ?
-
Need advice/opinion about CCHY . Have been to their open house last week but the student there not very impressive . School seems quiet and student without passion . Reached there about 11.30am entire school seems like the open house had end . We hav to goaround the school our own . Is a great diff compare to Yishun town Sec.
Is there anyone give some feedback about this school ? Am struggling between cchy and Yishun town Sec. -
