Did u see that slip ( cohort Progress Report ) containing the average mean score per subject, for 2017 P4 SA2 cohort, printed out ? Form Teacher instructed us to insert this slip back, into our Report card.

In fact, this P4 level cohort Progress Report tells a story.

Did u notice that the mean (average) for Each subject, was very high ?
Did you compare and contrast in detail, our P4 \"SA2\" against P4 \"SA1\" level cohort mean, per subject, & noticed that SA2 every single subject's Mean was so much higher, than that of previous SA1 ?

This means that across each of our six P4 classes : in general, a lot of our girls did very well, overall.

To double confirm, since this Friday is Parents-Meet-Tr (PMT) session, u may ask each of your P4 subject Tr :
how many girls get Band 1, in your own class ?

(from there, can more or less gauge)

        Anyway, on 1 Dec 2017 -
once 2018 P5 class allocation is out (via online login to school website), just trace Which class (that girl from 2017 P4 Charity Top class who received the \"All-Rounder\" award, plus where those Top 3 girls in your own class) get allocated to, very fast will know which are the Top two classes for P5, randomly mixed by those Top 80 girls, amongst entire P4 cohort.

        Why very fast ?
Because you will see many parents excitedly, forming the new 2018 P5 class whatsapp chat group, swiftly.

The rest : will be MA (mixed ability) classes.
As long as they are banded by certain subject (s), that class is considered an MA class.

Since so many girls did well across P4 cohort, the Cut-off, to enter the first 2 classes : expected to be very high.

But, if during PMT, u ask your class Form Tr what's the Cut-off, they won't disclose (like asking them Top-secret, that type)

        This year (2017, born 2006 batch) :
P5 (Hope & Grace) are Top two classes.

        Next year (2018, born 2007 batch) :
The first two classes may not necessarily be the same, as above names. School sometimes rotates names around, differently.

(don't waste time, on un-official info)

Does anyone know if streaming is done at the end of P2 as well? That is, the girls will be separated into High Ability Classes and Mixed Ability Classes at P3?

Yes, streaming had been done for 2017 P2 girls (born 2009), they are the pioneering batch to sit for the new PSLE AL (Achievement level) system, to be implemented in 2021. From 2021, the current PSLE T-score system will become history.

            For 2018 P3 :
There are three HA (High Ability) classes, plus another three MA (Mixed Ability) classes.

2017 P2 parents, who had been sleuthing (detective work) around, after P3 class allocation results came out, they would be able to tell which are these three 2018 P3 HA classes, randomly allocated by Top 120 pupils, at the end of 2017 P2 streaming. By now, a number of P2 parents already know which are the 2018 P3 HA classes.

The girls will stay & remain in the same class for the next two years ahead (2018 P3, followed by 2019 P4). At the end of 2019 P4, they will be streamed again for one more time, into 2020 P5 new class allocation.

During this period, any Transfer student from outside schools who managed to Transfer into SNGS primary successfully : are only allowed to join any of the three MA (Mixed Ability) classes.
Transfer students from outside schools, are Not allowed, to join any of the Top three classes. This has been our school (SNGS primary) practice.

Thanks phtthp. We do notice that the top 3 girls from all the P2 classes seem to be congregated in 2 P3 classes for 2018, but not sure if there is a 3rd class.

From 2021 onwards, for 2021 P6 (psle) student, born 2009, for each of the 4 subjects, how many A or A ☆ are required, before one can go back to affliated SNGS (O level)?

                AL 1 : 90 and above

                AL2 : 85 to 89

                AL3 : 80 to 84

                AL4 : 75 to 79

                Etc

                  Hi

I noticed that there are no Chinese Compo exam pads in P3. Are the girls taught 作文 in P3?
                  Thanks.

You can buy Chinese compo pad yourself, from our school bookshop. Around $1.60, per zuowen pad.

Chinese Teacher did issue some guidance notes to the whole P3 class, like how to use certain basic good phrases " hao ci hao ju" for opening / beginning paragraph, for rainy or sunny weather, & for writing basic conclusion paragraph, that type.

However, personally, i find the zuowen guidance notes issued by our school, too brief.

In the end, end up there were still many classmates in her (2016 p3 and 217 p4) class, who continued to attend
                    zuowen tuituon centre, outside.

They either attended outside tuition centre (zuowen), although a handful did attend zuowen enrichment held once a week, taught by an external lao shi hired, where this outside Teacher borrowed our St Nick classroom premises, to conduct weekly zuowen lessons. Note that this Teacher is Not our St Nick lao shi, but an external, outside Tr. Yes, there were a couple of p2 to p6 students, who attended her weekly zuowen class, because of convenience, since is after school, & held at our own school premises.

At St nick primary, besides Chinese zuowen tuition, there were many classmates from her class, who also attended English / Maths / Science tuition, outside. At least, thats what i observed, from her class.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I gather that additional help would be needed to 作文 then.
Would you mind sharing about P3 English compo too?
                      Thank you for your time.
