How strict is subjective. Some may find the school strict while others are ok with it. At secondary level, with the exception of International program schools, all schools are strict. Just look at the ACS mobile phone case. But too strict impede creativity and the will to speak up.

DD told me during the orientation, Sec 1 students are required to march. They can only eat when they are told to eat. Just like Basic Military Training.

        hi limws1,

        Thanks for your feedback>

How is the academic support? Are teachers willing to give extra coaching? Patience? Supportive type or Demanding type?

My personal experience with my DD teachers and academic VP give me a sense that they are supportive. The students must also take the initiative to approach the teachers for extra coaching if needed. Having said that, I have also seen a teacher getting angry with a parent and child during meet-the-teacher session.

my child is from Peirce and after the students from Bishan park joined Peirce this year, my child feedback to me that the Peirce’s discipline is not as strict now, especially to the students from Bishan park. We were pleased with Peirce’s discipline achievement when the previous principal was still around. However, there is a change of principal and discipline master this year, really hope Peirce can maintain the discipline standard.

                    Hi Parents,

The late reporting has always been on Tuesday but changed to Monday effective this year (2018).

Understand CCA is on Monday and the kids will reach home late and tired on Monday evening. Hence, Tuesday late reporting works better so that kids can rest and lie in a bit. Thought this is better taking the kids’ interest and well being into consideration.

Could any parent share why the school or new principal change the late reporting to Monday instead?

Or could we have a collective voice to get the school to change the late reporting to Tuesday instead? Any thoughts or views? :rahrah:

                    Thanks!

I attended the Peirce Sec School Open House yesterday (24 Nov 2018). I was impressed with the principal, teachers and the students. Every CCAs was involved in the Open House and the students have displayed confidence and support for the school. My gal has visited Beatty, Deyi and Guangyang but she loves this school and we will put it as our 1st choice. 🕺 🕺 :rahrah:
