matriculation day (register to NUSH) is next day of S1 posting result out date, probably on 22-Dec.
You will be inform about the Elective module registration week after school start in Jan. Probably the 1st Saturday after school start if I remember correctly. -

My DS just got confirmation to go NUS High. Any of your kids go NUS High and regretted ? How many % stress level higher than taking A Level?
Hi,
NUS High and A level are two different grading system. How many % of stress depends on how much you want to stretch yourself and a which stage of the 6 years.
As matarepy said, if you DS is selected, NUSH believed he has the abilities to do well. As a preferred IP school, all available programmes / opportunities to other IP schools are also available to NUSH. Since NUSH only accept a small cohort each year, the opportunities are far greater for each student compared to other IP schools. Hence if students attempt to stretch themselves to the max, the greater is the stress level due to time limitation not programme or opportunities vigour.
From foundation to the advanced stage, there will be a step jump in academic vigour. At specialisation stage (yr5&6) depend on your selection, the final 2 years can be relaxing compared to doing A level. If students select to meet the minimum requirement, they only need to do majors in Maths, 2 sciences, English ( basically GP ) and their ARP n 1 IRP.
For MOE Humanity requirement by yr 4, students have met requirement and presume also completed their MTL requirement. Some student need to go to school for 3 to 4 days a week.
If students takes with honours, they have to take the subject required major modules plus additional honours modules within the same stage period. Hence if you maths with honours, basically you are take 2 maths subjects.
The amount NUSH students stretches themselves can be amazing. they have 1 CCA, 1 subject interest group, more than 1 olypmpiads, involve in CIP and leadership roles within the CCA & interest group n other external programmes like MOE GEP.
programmes.
As NUSH grading is continuous assessment, student cannot wait till the final year to \"chong\". basically for NUSH students, the can predict their graduation CAP by yr 4. all other activities they take up are to explore, experiment and eventually allow to excel in their interest.
DC completed nush not too long ago, enjoy and never regard but do have some high stress level in year 3 and 5. DC has too much on the plate during those 2 yrs.
NUSH do encourge student to take the American Advanced Placement examination, usually take various subject between yr 5 & 6, those that take 5 subjects will be awarded a AP international Diploma. NUSH students do very well in this AP examination.
Hope this give a good overview. -

NUSH - results accumulated from year 3 to 6 tests, exams etc.
\"A\" levels; results depend on how well you in one sitting in Nov /Dec at year 6 or JC2.
What do you think ? All based on one sitting or over 4 years ? -

Yes. For IP, those have interests in Math and Sc should go NUSH.Justdoit123:

Note: 'accumulate over 4 years' but generally, each exam paper is based on the topics learnt in only 1 sem or the most 2 sem! -
Like to ask how CCA selection in NUSH works? How many choices are you given? Is it very competitive to get into certain CCAs?

there are many CCA to choose from.
But like most, if not, all schools, there are some CCA that are super popular. Due to resource constraints, some CCA has no choice but be selective and limit the number of new members each year.
Some CCA are super unpopular, but continue to function with only a handful of members -

Hi thanks for the reply. How many choices must we put down? Problem is my DS has set his heart on only 2 CCA which I suspect will be super popular. So wondering how many other CCAs we should shortlist.Musings:
