      xing369:
      where to buy 2nd-hand textbooks?

or better to purchase new ones?
what the recommended books to buy?
I have purchased new Chinese textbooks and also have 2nd hand ones.
I think better to buy new ones because the books are not too expensive. You can buy from Popular. I did not buy the Math textbooks. You should buy according to your child's needs first.

Full colour assessment books for coins, dollars and time. These books more appealing to 6 years old and each book costs about $4.50. I like these 3 books as it helps the child to build up the concepts.

hi, abt 1 yr ago when my gal was just turning 5, I went to bras basah 2nd flr and bought some 2nd hand textbook chinese, higher chinese and maths. Jus to try gasp what willb taught in p1 and if her preschool was going the similar way

when I found it did... I was relaxed..I just continue her routine of doing some home work more to continue building her routine to include some revision at home.
Now that she is going p1, I am not that gan cheong to start \"preparing\" her at home but rather let her finish her curriculum at k2 and those home work we have.. only thing I am insisting is progress her reading list to a p1 equal standard.

Am I too relaxed? Should I do more?

Even her show & tell now, I just help her get her photo & material but I let her \"freeflow\" in school...by the time she gets home, she forgot what she said aldy.

                    shld I b more concerned?
Even her chinese, I let her go at her own pace.cox I didnt touch on hanyu pinyin till her preschool started it.. but I know her chinese is erm... slacked cox I emphasised on english all along thinking english is essential to understand eng, maths, science and all other subjects..

shld I really start to do more?

I must add that I aldy started since she was 4 abt money..abt 5 yrs old, I started letting her try read the signage abv the food stalls & now she can confidently order from hawker, mcdonalds but calculating abt how much change takes a long time & not every cashier or hawkers has the patience to wait for our little maths class to finish... this makes her a tiny bit nervous coz of the rush...:(

Your kid is already doing very well ๐Ÿ™‚

With her command of English, she should not have any problems with P1 Math or English.

As your child is in Taonan and taking higher Chinese, you may need to ramp up Chinese a little bit more, especially if that is not a language your family commonly use. The cracks won't show at P1 or P2, but it could be quite glaring from P3 onwards. It's better to start Chinese enrichment early from P1. Molin will be my recommendation. It's the best known secret amongst Tao Nan students :).
