If my husband and son is baptized as Catholic, but we stay more than 2km from Catholic High. Does my son qualify for 2B phase?

if we were to compare these 2, which one you reckon will have higher chance...
my son is born 2014, so P1 will be in 2021...

If i'm not wrong, both will be in Phase 2B?
For #1 above, is there a way to do PV in order to increase the chance?

Please enlighten me... Thanks![/quote]Please note that PV doesn't guarantee admission. It will still be based on distance for ALL phases. You should check the balloting history. If I'm not mistaken, Catholic High requires balloting for those within 1km in Phase 2B, so you won't have a chance at all.

PV gets you into Phase 2B.
A baptized Catholic also gets you into Phase 2B.
PV + Catholic still lands you in Phase 2B. It's no better or worst than that.
The only way to increase your chance is to uproot and move within 1km of CHS.

Nan Chiau Primary doesn't accept PV, so that's not an option. To get into Phase 2B, you can do either of the following:
1. If you or your husband is a Hokkien, find 2 existing members of SHHK to support your application. Volunteer with the clan and hope for the best.
2. Join the Grassroots and be a GRL. However, do bear in mind that even though Nan Chiau is in Sengkang, it's located in Sengkang West which is lumped together with AMK GRC / TC. Hence, if you aren't staying in AMK / Sengkang West, it's not an option either.

I agree. Within Phase 2B, if you are not <1km of the school, you will still lose out to those who are <1km.


Do u have any Catholic school that is <1km from your house? Or is there any primary school <1km of your house which accepts PVs? These are the only safe schools that you can place your hopes on under Phase 2B.

I assume you are a member already. Do look out for communications but I recall it was in April they asked for applications to be submitted. they will only inform you if you are successful for the letter after Phase 2A2 (cos that's when they know how many letters they can issue)
