I think you meant a 6-year rather than 4-year journey. A 4-year journey would mean that the Y2 results have tanked. :scared:Thank you sursum - the start of a very long 4-year journey.
DS is thinking of sports or UG CCA so I hope he’ll have the honour of putting on that jersey.
In RI, selection of CCA works like this - the boys select the CCA, and the CCA also selects the boys. In Jan/Feb, the boys will be busy going for trials for those CCA they are interested in. In addition, there is this list of 6 core sports that is compulsory for all boys to go for trials - rugby, judo, hockey, softball, T&F and one more which slipped my mind. Those boys who meet the coaches’ expectation during the trials will be encouraged to select the CCA when the online application opens.
UG is good too as there are a lot of leadership opportunities. In fact, we were told earlier this year during the CCA briefing that one of the President Scholars was from Scouts. -
Oh yes, 6 years in all
I’m supportive of UGs too - toughens the boys up. I’ve heard of instances where seniors (not in RI, but in other schools) taking their trainings or punishments too far though. Does anyone have comments on the senior-junior dynamics at RI, and teachers’ involvement in the CCA sessions? -

I think there is always the risk of over-zealous seniors in every school. Having said that, I feel that the majority of RI boys are the 乖乖 studious type so they can’t be that bad.Oh yes, 6 years in all

In any case, parents can always approach the CCA teachers to discuss any concern they may have. From personal experience, RI teachers are quite responsive. -

DS has an awesome relationship with his seniors. Can't ask for more. His seniors are very nurturing and encouraging. They taught him during practices. They also give encouragement cards to the juniors from time to time. In DS's case, I think it is very hard to find better seniors than his seniors.Oh yes, 6 years in all

DS's CCA teachers-in-charge are very approachable and involved. One is strict, another is kind. Each one has different strengths but overall they are very passionate and responsible teachers. DS is very lucky in his CCA

If I remember correctly, based on what I heard from one of the briefings/town hall, RI teachers have service standard. During school terms they have to reply email within 24 hours (excluding weekends).

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the comments so far. RI seems like a great environment to be in. :grphug:

We apologise that you are unable to log in to SNAC at this time. Our vendor is aware of the problem and is working to resolve the issue. Our thanks to parents who have written in to inform us of the problem.
Parents, please update your contact information on STAMFORD, as we will be using SMS to inform you as soon as the SNAC system is back up. -
Understand that the school is air-conditioned… is there any dress code for the jacket, such as colour or no design, or they have to buy the RI jacket?
Btw. Heard that this time the school has reduced their intake of DSA GEP students. Any truth?
