Contemplating a holiday in Gold Coast during the coming school holidays. Need some help on the following:

      1. Has anyone been to Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort? Is it worth the trip?
      2. Does it make sense to drive in Gold Coast?
      3. If not, how do you get from airport to the hotel? And also to the various attractions? By public transport or does hotel provide transport service?
      4. Has anyone been to Mt Tamborine? Good?

      Thanks.

We went to Gold coast in December 2009. It's probably like the hottest time to go there so it might affect our review. For us, it was like the 1st and the last time we will go there. We are not very impressed and found it quite of boring compared to Universal in Singapore now. We covered dreamworld and movie world. Also shops closed pretty early so it's quite boring at night.

We went to Tangalooma and got a chance to feed the dolphins. For my kids (P2 and P3), as you got to feed the dolphins in the sea and the wave is alittle \"big\" for them, they were kind of scared. After feeding the dolphin, they ran back to the shore. Personally, i was alittle scared as found that it is not bright enough.

Besides, dolphin feeding, we also went for sand toboganning. My P2 and P3 did that and found it quite fun. They also get to see pelikan feeding in the morning.

when we were feeding the dolphins at Tangalooma, there was hardly any waves that night. But the rides to and from the island were extremely bumpy and some passengers fell seasick.

Maybe you are lucky.... we were told that shorts will do. But quite of people got wet up to shoulder level due to wave.

Yes... my son felt seasick too and kept telling me that he wants to vomit.

                Hi Mummyoftwo,

We are thinking of Meriton too. May I know where did you book it through? Thanks. 😄

                Hi,

Am planning for our June holiday in gold coast. Any recommendation on Gold Coast Apartment ?

I am planning a trip as well and have booked Meriton Serviced Apartments. Depending on your budget, Q1 and Chevron Apartments are good too.

We were there GoldCoast (GC) 8D7N early September.

Highly recommend for families with kids.

We conquered the following themeparks :
                    - MovieWorld (5/5)
                    - SeaWorld (4/5)
                    - DreamWorld (3.5/5)
                    - ParadiseCountry (4/5)

                    (entertainment/valueAdd ratings are in bracket)

GC is a lifestyle entertainment by itself, and even adults were amazed at the variety.
Buzzing nightlife, buskers line Cavill ave, heart of Surfers Paradise.

                      Hi peng lee,

Glad to see the reviews and photos coz I hv booked holiday trip to Gold Coast tis coming november during Natas. I love the cooling weather too but I think I may experience hot weather instead during Nov. By the way, can I check if you encounter any problem bringing necessities like milk powder as I understand that Australia is quite strict in the custom clearance. Do u bring a brand new milk tin there? Thanks in adv!

                        Hi mummyprincess,

FYI, you can bring milk powder but it has to be BN and you’ve to make sure you declare at the custom. All food has to be declared. No liquid milk is allowed even BN. When we were back to SG, i handcarried a bottle of BN pediasure ready mix milk and was stopped by the custom. They gotten my boy to finish drinking before allowing us to check in at the custom.
