Hi, the COP has in fact increased for o level track. Last year's COP was 245.my_little_rainbow:
Anyone knows the cop for VS this year ?
I called the admin office and was advised by the friendly lady of the following:
246 for O lvl track &
252 for IP
Note: There was a drastic drop of cop for 2017 o level track if I'm not mistaken. I believe the main factor was the construction of the Downtown Line which affected the sch's premises and its surroundings. Now construction is still ongoing but many traffic problems have been resolved and adjustments have been made to the sch's facilities. -

thanks for the infor! btw, tomorrow for the reg, are there any dress code for the students?
Your DS should wear his pri sch uniform to report to sch tomorrow.
Bring his pri sch report book, psle result slip, ezlink card, & remember your bank account number for paying sch fees (maybe not necessary if same as pri sch account)....
I remember my DS and friends were ushered into an auditorium to be briefed by some teachers and heads of department while parents were given a talk and entertainment by other staff in the hall.
Application and test for certain 3rd language were conducted on the same day. Also, withdrawal from HMT can be done tomorrow.
Sch uniform will be on sale tomorrow. If not, there are many other dates available to buy. There will be a private sch bus operator at the entrance.
May have changes after so many years though. -
megatron:
Oh yes, down from 247, I presume.

Sorry folks. Guess I missed out a very important note for tomorrow. Please bring along some $500 cash to purchase uniform & books. But you may go back on another day if you do not like long queue.

Thanks Rainbowie. Any advice on how many sets of pe and shirts to buy? Are they allowed to wear pe t shirts to school or they have to change before pe lesson. Not sure if the briefing tomorrow will include these points. :? -

I think we bought 3 sets of shirts and shorts and 3 sets of PE attire for my DS. They need quite a few sets of PE attire for the orientation camp. You know boys lah, he lost a pair of shorts but got an extra t-shirt after the camp. Best is to label them if possible (eg mark on the size label).

For Mon to Thur, they have to wear the white uniform and khaki shorts to school even if they have PE. They will change into PE attire for the PE lesson and change back to white uniform after PE. It's only on Fri that they can wear PE shirt with the khaki shorts to school. No PE shorts to and from school for all the 5 days, except after CCA, I think.
School will start late on every Thur. Reporting time is 8.25am I think. Can't remember as DS would reach school by 8am every Thur. -

:thankyou:

Welcome, megatron.
In addition, we only bought one school tie which lasted for 4 years. It's to be worn on every Mon during assembly.
You need not buy the school badge as there will be a ceremony (investiture?) whereby the form teacher will pin the badge on his pupils as they formally become Victorians. VS doesn't require name tag on the shirt.
Need to buy Homec (Home Econ) bandana & apron which will be listed in booklist. If your DS does not like certain colour such as pink but is given randomly by the bookshop attendant, please exchange for another colour. I thought all bandanas are of standard colour then. Choose a colour which your DS prefers so that he can cook up a storm and get the A1

:thankyou: for sharing. It is very good to hear from a parent whose son has gone through the 4 years.parparent:
My son will be applying to VS. Impressed by the students I met at the open house - very well-mannered young men. Very rare to hear teenagers address adults as sir and ma’am.
Hope my son can get in.
I hope your son can get in. Mine has just graduated this year. He has indeed been transformed from a not-so-confident, bad-tempered, 'nua' in sport and impatient boy to a real confident, cheerful, sporty and yet gentle man. No joke. He had experienced small hiccups as those are life's inevitables. But the experiences he had in the last 4 years were invaluable & fulfilling and the Victorian spirit is a truly one of its magical kind. Not trying to hard-sell VS but speaking from the bottom of my heart.
Went for the registration yesterday. Wanted to queue for the books and uniforms but some uniform sizes were sold out. Does anyone know when the new stock will arrive? -

Spent close to 500 bucks yesterday :moneyflies: But we are all very happy and excited
Parparent, based on the tag on the uniform, the contact is Kah Huat Uniform (Tel: 6479 6811). They may be able to advise you on the availability of the uniform.
