Need advice/opinion about CCHY . Have been to their open house last week but the student there not very impressive . School seems quiet and student without passion . Reached there about 11.30am entire school seems like the open house had end . We hav to goaround the school our own . Is a great diff compare to Yishun town Sec.

Is there anyone give some feedback about this school ? Am struggling between cchy and Yishun town Sec.

Actually whr exactly is Nan Chiau uh? Only know is SAP but nvr pay attention to news

Is in Sengkang, 2 bus stops from Sengkang MRT by 161/156/159. (Check the maps on ur fone for directions)

The programmes and subjects can see the wiki, looks quite comprehensive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nan_Chiau_High_School). Think dat will give a clearer idea.

:goodpost: Thanks alot for the details, was a timely suggestion! Have went and checked it out.

          We submitted
          1) Nan Chiau
          2) Chung Cheng Yishun
          3) Yishun Town
          4) Ahmad Ibrahim
          5) Riverside

Can understand lah. For 25 Nov all schs alrd holidays alrd, so all these kids in all schs are basically called back to promote sch. So the level of enthusiasm really dawn on the amt of love for their sch (good observation there). Those who love the school will be willing to help parents like us to understand the sch better, those who have no feelings towards the school tend to just hope to end job early πŸ˜‚

But usually for kids the feelings of their alum mater comes only can strongly feel after they graduate (so by rite the best gauge shd be the young graduates if can find 1 is sway liao). So I tend to look at the school discipline and programmes more. (I prefer asking the students personally rather than walking around the booths) πŸ˜‰

                      Academic Achievements

In the 2016 GCE 'O' Level Examinations, we saw 90.2% of our students from Express stream eligible for a junior college education while 100% were eligible for the polytechnic courses. Our students also performed above the national averages in terms of percentage distinction.
                      http://chungchenghighyishun.moe.edu.sg/academia/recognition/academic-achievements

                      It's 90.2% not 99%.

Based on the previous COP of 237 for admission to CCHY.. The standard of the school should be able to achieve between 93-95% of students from Express stream eligible for junior college.

For 90.2%, I would think is abit too low

Just take an example from one of the sec sch to make a comparison.
eg. Temasek sec sch with a COP of 231. Their eligibility for JC is 94%.
                      http://temaseksec.moe.edu.sg/achievements/academic-results

Meaning that eventhough their COP is lower than CCHY. But their \"end results\" is way much better than CCHY.

Definitely will not recommend cchy. 90.2 % is the best it has performed for the past years. Usually abt 80% plus only though PSLE cut-off is not too low. The "output" does not do credit to the "input" in that sense. Have also listened to the speech of the school rep during open house ( better not say who) and his English is atrocious. Very Singlish. Was rather unpleasantly surprised. Only saving grace is the lake in the school, similar but less impressive than CCHM’s.
