May I know the school’s policy on the use of handphone? Can it be used after school hours but during cca?

Hi, there isn't any school rule prohibiting students from bringing handphone to school.
However, they are not allowed to use it during curriculum time or school programmes and functions unless the teachers explicitly gave them the permission to do so.

Dd has been using the hp during recess and after school without facing any problem but they are not allowed to use it during CCA. I would think CCA is considered as part of school programmes.

Regarding the school rules, I believe the students will be briefed on what are allowed/disallowed practices. They are also stated in the school's handbook, of which a soft copy will be forwarded to the parents.

I just found out after 1 whole year of being in ignorance that NYGH provides remedial classes to required students. Is this avail for all subjects and can volunteer opt-in?

Yes, but depends on your grade. If your child is A1 already, then cannot.

Yes, but you may want to email the 2 form teachers to alert them if you girl is the “weak or faint” type so that they n the student leaders on duty can keep a lookout. Don’t worry, the girls are very well looked after in NYGH.

For parents new to NYGH: for camps/ learning journeys/ outdoor activity, there will be briefing+ a list of things to bring will be given to your child. Don’t worry.
The coming dragon boating, dark coloured shirts as their white PE shirt will be a bit “see through” when wet. Long pants so that the girls’ legs are protected.

Handphones: not allowed to use during lesson time but can check in-bet lesson as teacher will inform them change of venue etc through class chatgroup. Very common for science/LA lesson.
Except lesson time/CCA training hours, I think the girls are using hp throughout the day like nobody’s business. They will hv many chatgroups, share many animes/ Kpop news/ mtv/ webtoons etc etc.
