Dear All
Like to seek your advice.
If I register for the pri sch that is about 700m away from my house, but if it get too popular and if worst case I lose the balloting, do I still stand a high chance for the sch that is just across my house?
For both sch, I will be under Phase 2C (no siblings, alumni, PV etc) and i'll fall under the first category of less than 1km right?
Balloting results will be out within the same day right?
I am looking at pri sch in Punggol. Any parent in punggol too?
I am staying in Punggol also, and i have dragon twins to register this july!!!! >.<

Hi Parents. My boy born in year 2012 and we stay in the Admiralty area. We are looking at Canberra (within 1-2km) or Chongfu Primary School, but we are not PV for both schools. We are concerned whether itβs too late to join SGHK now to get in to Phase 2B for Chongfu. Any advice please? Thanks.

Too late to apply for PV or SHHK member or alumni (i.e. Phase 2A1) for 2018 registration. The only viable phase (apart from Phase 2A2) would be Phase 2C. However, you would probably not stand a chance for both schools in Phase 2C given that they are likely to ballot within 1km. Best to reconsider your options and look at other schools. -

But may I know what does it mean by late? Meaning we won't get any letter / recommendation from SHHK for the registration even if we are joining now? I know I am way too late so trying my luck...
Does it mean that the best option available now is to target the schools within 1km from my house & we get to have higher chance? -

Refer no. 6 of SHHK FAQ on Phase 2B registration.
Thanks for the advice.

Q: What are the criteria to be recommended for Phase 2B registration?
A: A committee will be formed to review all applications nearer the date of registration. Evaluation will be based on guidelines set by this committee and on a case-by-case basis according to its merit. One of the determining factors is tenure of membership.
Do you think a 6-month old member can trump a 3, 2 or even 1 year old member? Where do you think you will be placed on the list of applicants? That said, if you really need to spend that membership fee, I can pass you my bank account and Iβll gladly accept your transfer
You donβt have to target schools within 1km (though that would obviously be preferred). You should target schools that have vacancies for you to at least stand a chance to ballot in Phase 2C. -
I am totally new to this system of primary school allocations.
I stay in the Farrer Park Area and am looking at sending my son to either
Hong Wen where we are < 1Km away
SJI within 2km away
Only eligible for phase 2C as have no affiliations with any schools, my son is a SC, wife is SC and I am a PR
As I understand it Hong Wen will need balloting at < 1km and SJI has historically needed balloting within 2km.
The problem is which one should I apply for to stand a chance? Do we wait to see which one has more spaces and applications?
My gut instinct is just try Hong Wen
Ideally we want a mixed / co-ed school because we have a daughter ( SG50 born ) and I this could be another tough year for primary school entry.
We have a few other backup options like Farrer Park Primary or Stamford
Any advice from the more experienced people?
Thanks -
Hi everyone. Clueless mum to a dragon boy here. We are SC and only eligible for Phase 2C for all of the nearby schools. Moving is not an option right now. The problem is 2 of the schools nearby my house are popular schools. Geylang Methodist Primary (<1km) and Maha Bodhi (1-2km). Actually, MBS is much more convenient for my family. I know both are slim chance, but do you think zero chance for me to even trying Maha Bodhi?
