Dear Parents,
My son said they are encouraged to join one uniform group and another CCA (either a Sport or a Club) during Sec 1 Orientation. But we are afraid that he will need to spend quite a lot of time if he has 2 CCAs. Please advise whether it is advisable to let him take 2 CCAs. Thanks!!! -
BonaFides:
BonaFides, it's advisable for your boy to join only one CCA - be it uniform, sports or club. Yesterday was the Sec 1 CCA Orientation Day to introduce the various CCAs to the boys. For some sports CCA, there will be trials at a latter date for the respective heads to select talented boys.[I'm sorry for re-posting this, because I can't delete the previous one].

Many of the CCAs require the boys to train / participate between 2-3 times a week -- hence, the boys often come home late after school. Also, in preparation of the Inter-School Nationals and competitions, some CCA (even uniform group) may require the boys to train up to 4-5 times a week. The preparation time can begin several months ahead of the competitions. -

Hi BonaFides, just to clarify, I think what your son meant was that studentrs need to indicate at least one sport and one uniformed group in their CCA choices.Dear Parents,

However, the school will only allocate your son 1 CCA, which is usually one of his choices.

Thanks Hwachie. Seems I need to spend some time with him to understand what he really means.
:thankyou: BonaFidesIn case you haven’t found out which of the four consortiums your DS is in, go to https://lms.asknlearn.com/HC ... log on there with your DS IC as both User ID and Password for the first time. Then go to his Profile and then click on \"Class\".
ya, my son said only ProEd has a song, he thinks.xjysg:
It's day 3 since school starts. How's the orientation so far for your kids? DS seems to enjoy himself and has made new friends
. For some reason, DS seems to like the school song much and comes home singing them the whole afternoon :? . He even searched online and found this \"ProEd song\" which he likes much too. Is this song from the ProEd consortium? Is there one for every consortium?
He said if one knows which orientation group the S1 kid is in, then one will know which consortium he will be going to. -
My DS has managed to log in to the LMS ask and learn portal.
Need to change password after first log in.
From the personal details page, you can see your DS email address.
The 123456X in front of the email is DS credentials.
This can be used to log in to other portals as well, the password is DS IC.

Hi parents/students, just wondering any of you or your DS in Fencing CCA? Where are the lessons held? On campus or off-site?
-
Is there any chat group for 2018 Sec 1 HCI parents?
-
I understand there will be 3 sessions of CCA Orientation II from this Wednesday onwards.
May I know if the boys can go and try out anything they like on the spot or do they need to sign up beforehand? Will the CCAs that asked for their names last week inform them to go for trials on specific dates?
Thanks for any help on this.
