I'm a rookie mum totally confused and too relaxed about everything until things hit me.

Are there any mbs kids/mums staying guillemard /old airport road area. ? Can share what's your transport options? Are there any car pools ongoing now ?

I just received a call from school bus informing pickup for my p1 kid at 620am. :yikes:

I am already fearing the daily resistance of dragging my kid out of warm bed into a cold bathroom. If need be, probably I will take grab car send her to school in morning and let her take school bus home.

Sorry for the late reply - I don't come into Kiasu Parents Forum often...

I'm sending them to school in the mornings and they take school bus home in the afternoon. Which means the start of the school run tomorrow morning...

As for FB / WhatsApp group, that's dependent on the individual class' form teacher. Every teacher has their own preferred style, so you'll find out soon enough...

As for your in-laws, I guess you can only ignore them. It can be more tiring for the kids due to the distance (longer travelling time, etc.), but some things gotta give, depending on your priorities. I don't believe in normal neighbourhood schools and I don't want to go through the stress of balloting, so this is the best of both worlds for my case. Also, I'm discovering that MBS has very good moral education system both in & out of classroom - they don't only focus on academics like some top schools. Hopefully, in time to come, your in-laws will come to appreciate your decision.

May I check if I have a referral letter from a monk, which phase should I submit/apply for registration? And when do I need to get the referral letter ready?

Did anyone had this “path” / journey before?

I am also thinking of registering my daughter under the school. Does anyone know how do I apply under phase 2B? I read somewhere that they do not accept PV. Is this true? Then how does one go about becoming a member of the Singapore Buddhist Federation? Appreciate any help or advice given. Thank you in advance.
