Hello everyone, Thanks all for your time first.

I am SPR/<1km, qualified for Phase 2B and fulfill the parent volunteer scheme.

My question is, am I able to register under Phase 2B even though we are SPR? or still need to Q under Phase 2C (but our priority over those PR without PV qualification)?

      Thanks thanks!

It would depend on what your child's status is. Whether he/she is a citizen/ PR/ or foreigner. If the child is a citizen or SPR, you are qualified to register in 2B.

Hi thanks for your reply! My child is SPR also ๐Ÿ™‚

I confused about this because I saw this \"Singapore Citizens (SCs) will be given absolute priority over Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs)\" everywhere, so not sure how does it applies to my situation. Thanks again!
You will be allowed to register under Phase 2B as SPR. However, your priority will be lower than SC if there is balloting within that phase. Meaning, any SC, even if they live across the island or across the causeway (ie > 2km), will be admitted into the school before you. If there is any balance after all SC have been admitted, you will then be considered.

For non-popular schools, it will probably not be a concern. For popular schools, prep for the worst.

        Thank you floppy.

So means that under Phase 2B, my chance will be lower than Phase 2B SC even their distance >2km, they will fill in all the Phase 2B SC first then consider Phase 2B SPR.

In the meantime, Phase 2B SPR chance will still be HIGHER than Phase 2C SC and SPR. Can I say that? Thanks!

This is incorrect. Your chance would be considered by phases. It means, your chance in any phase will be lower than SC. It means even if there are SC > 2km in Phase 2C, they will still be given priority.

To clarify, each phase is unique and is not correlated to previous phase.

            The first statement is correct:
Under Phase 2B, my chance will be lower than Phase 2B SC even their distance >2km, they will fill in all the Phase 2B SC first then consider Phase 2B SPR.

When it comes to Phase 2C, whether you have qualified for Phase 2B (or Phase 2A) is irrelevant. As per galaxyrider comment, your priority will still be lower than SC even though they might not have qualified for any of the earlier phases.

Simply speaking, if we qualified by the school PV Scheme, and distance<1m, also, for the year for application, at this school Phase 2B applicants number does NOT exceeds the number of vacancies available, we will be surely admitted in the school right? Unless that year the Phase 2B Applicants number exceeds the vacancies available, there will be priorities SC at Phase 2B first, then we may turn down to the Phase 2C stage.

Thanks galaxyraider, the background is my child is SPR and distance < 1km, AND we are accepted by school for Phase 2B registration (qualified for PV Scheme). That's what I would compare if it will go for Phase 2B SPR first for Phase 2C SC first. Thank you.

Which school are u talking about? Even if u go and count all the PVs for your year, do beware that any GRLs may suddenly appear for registration at phase 2B. That may throw off your calculations.

I see. Keming Primary u should be quite safe. It seems like the school restricts the PVs to just a small handful? Hereโ€™s the balloting history: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/bukit-batok/

GRLs refers to grassroots leaders. They also qualify under phase 2B. May have a handful of such unknown numbers turning up for registration. But for this school seems quite safe PR <1km should get in fine.

there is nothing to beware about.
GRL did their fair share of volunteer work - elsewhere.

in my opinion, the correct term should be \"be aware\"

lastly, they don't suddenly appear.... they plan for it as much as the PV.
