Any parents able to share any feedback on the Wushu team? Last year's performance at inter-school is not great. Heard there is a change of instructor this year.

Any insights into the school team selection process will be appreciated - heard most of the kids are selected through the ASEP, is that true?

The wushu blogspot appears very out of date 😞

        Snack break depends on teachers.

        I don't think so.
It's staggered for every level (not sure why) but every class has it.
They're allowed to eat but lessons still continue.

My kid is not in the Wushu team but is in one of the other school sports teams.

There are a few ways that kids can get into the school teams :
          - spotted during PE
          - spotted during CCA
          - spotted during ASEP
          - applied for transfer from another school (and may have listed certain skills, etc)
          - proactively approach coach/ teacher in charge then go through a demo/ trial

The school should select the best representative based on performance/ conduct/ teamwork, etc. Not sure exactly how Wushu would work but I think the main thing would be to get spotted. If they don't know about the kid, they cannot select him/ her.

Best thing would be to approach the teacher/ coach and express interest. They'll be able to arrange a trial or ask to see the standard and also answer any specific Wushu procedures directly.

My son just cleared it with me this morning. No snack break on Wednesday as school ends at 1. For other days, they can snack when it's time.

Has anyone ever given feedback to this current P or the VPs for anything? Is the school management receptive? There are changes recently that I’m not happy about. But I don’t want to just grumble anonymously here. At the same time, if the school culture is just to bulldoze their way with changes, I also don’t want to waste my time writing long letters.

I think the majority of parents feel the same as you, to be honest.
Definitely a lot of changes that are not beneficial... frustrating!!!
