Hi, to all concerned, I’ve called MOE & the hotline personnel confirms that it is based on merit and not according to ranking of choice. It is also done by MOE centralised system. Goodluck to all JAE students! Hope you get what you wish for!

WHO is this blur Paced Learning Academy of page 214 who stated that it's based on choice ranking??!
It has always been based on merits except for affiliations who wish to use their affiliated bonus points.

hi may i ask if the grade for higher mother tongue is important for university admission? thanks!

I am not sure about hmt but for a-level mt, it can be included in the calculation as follows:

MT and HMT can be included in UAS if it improves your overall grades. If it doesn't, they'll just ignore it.

                    Hi,

Being a first time JC parent, I need advice.

Assuming the posting is release on 1st Feb, we need to report to school on 2nd Feb and my questions are :
                    * Do we need to follow our dc?
                    * Are we expected to purchase the books and uniform on the day itself?
                    * Do they start school the following week?
                    * How much are we advised to bring? - for uniform and books?
                    * Any suggestions on the number of set of uniform & PE attire that we need to purchase ?
                    * Are JCs stringent on school shoes/ socks so far?

                      Hello MMM!
It has been a while! I remember those time when we were waiting for dsa results! Congrats to your dd on doing so well!

                      1. My ds said orientation starts Feb 2, so I assume your dd needs to report to school
                      2. Maybe
                      3. She will most likely need to report school Feb 2 for orientation. Orientation last till Feb 14 for HCI. Not sure about other schools.
                      4. She can bring NETs card maybe
                      5. No. of uniforms should around the same like secondary school? But read that some schools are more relax on uniform so maybe doesn’t require many. At least 2 sets for a start maybe. PE perhaps one set first
                      6. I think it depends on school. I believe not so strict as Long as not too colourful. Maybe you could ask this question at specific school thread 😄

I don't think parents generally go with their kids on the first day of JC. I would say give your kid some money and he should be able to work things out for himself. If he doesn't have enough money on the first day, he can go back the next day and get the items.
