My daughter is taking this course, it is called \"billinguar course\", every week 1.5 hours...both my daughter and I don't want to continue it.

just based on the name of the course, it seems to be just speech and no drama.


for drama, there are the elements of creativity, imagination and play acting.

May I know why u’re not continuing? Due to the teachers or couse contents? Actually I’m quite hesitant to put my child in after the registration day as I wa sUrprised that only 2 or 3 parents were there, unlike their ever so popular art classes:(

And do u hv any recommendations for good compere or speech&drama classes which emphasize on presentation skills? Not so much of acting but rather prEsentation.

I have heard that for this course, they train your child on stage to speak confidently, but I am not sure how effective it is but it should be good for those who want their children to be confident speakers

I was told the preparatory course is mostly speech. Not much drama.
Drama component would be in later part of the syllabus if the child continues with the course

Hi jarjez, I've been looking around for ages for a good class that teach kids how to speak eloquently, do their presentations well or even on debating skills. In fact, posted a thread some time ago on this. But sad to say, I'm still looking. The closest I could find is one conducted by the British Council. My DS went for their one-week class during school holidays. Found it not bad. Each student take turn to speak up, give their thoughts on some video or news etc. However, when I enquire BC for a more long term class, they said that they only conduct holiday classes of this sort.

20 students are in the classes, for the past half years' study, my daughter learned 2 pieces english poems, and 2 chines raokouling and 1 page of miyu and how to introduce each other. As in a related big class, students are hardly concentrated all the way along. My daughter is a very active girl, she felt a little bit boring during the class.

Unlike arts course in Nafa, she has no strong feeling to continue her study in this class. That's why decide not to continue it.

The above mentioned is just my personal opinion. I think most of the students will enjoy this class.
