not beneficial in what way?cutepandabear:
Has anyone ever given feedback to this current P or the VPs for anything? Is the school management receptive? There are changes recently that I'm not happy about. But I don't want to just grumble anonymously here. At the same time, if the school culture is just to bulldoze their way with changes, I also don't want to waste my time writing long letters.
I think the majority of parents feel the same as you, to be honest.
Definitely a lot of changes that are not beneficial... frustrating!!! -

Eg. cancelling supp classes for p6's, no longer having end of yr meet-parents sessions except for selected students, ...

Hmmn...the above seems to be a trend this year? I think I read from the thread that pei Chun is doing the same too iirc...any idea if it is a MOE directive or Principal's discretion still?

Apologies for intruding... @FLD. Doing without sup classes would be better if it's on a case-by-case basis. P6 SC: demands of curriculum & time, both reasonably taxing; sup classes are good-to-have imo to spread out the workload/stress. Ours' scraped end-of-year MTP (since last) but supplementary classes for the usual levels remain.Zappy:

I feel that attending PTM is really not helpful coz unless my child has major issues, otherwise it’s a touch and go, less than 5 mins. It’s a total waste of time.
For supp class, I am baffled why the sch removes it esp since P6 materials must all be covered by mid year. There’s simply not enough regular curriculum time to complete the syllabus and supp class should help alleviate that -

My neighbourhood school have not scrapped MTP but have scrapped supp classes starting this year too, hence I am worried too. Personally I feel that HCL and Science supp classes are still necessary, otherwise not enough time, imho....but ...but...but ..I can only be Ah Q and console myself that supp class sometimes is a double-edge sword and are only good if teachers are efficient and effective and fill the gap myself now, no choice. :skeptical: :faint:  -
Did the school explain why there’s no supp classes anymore?

But that's supposedly an MOE directive, but who knows? -
It’s just worrying cos who wants to be in the first P6 batch with this new directive? Those that have tuition will just rely on tuition even more. Just hope for a good PSLE outcome.
Meet the parents is useful IMHO even if kid has no major issue. But still can make appointment with teacher if not called up to meet so not too bad.
I didn’t like the changes to the enrichment programs either. And CCA schedules. -

Nope. I had to ask T to find out more. Did away with supp classes but remedial classes remain.
June hols there will be 3 days of supp classes. T explained that they couldn't fit in supp classes on Mon/Tue now due to the new after school schedule.
