RI welcomes parents who wish to drop by the school tomorrow to show their support for their DCs who are receiving their A Level results.

The school may welcome parents, but the students may not! I'm not going to go - my daughter has told me firmly that she would prefer me not to be there. Not so much because she doesn't like me around, but because she will want to focus on her friends (after the obligatory message to me!).

DS does not mind us going to show our support - that’s how it has always been for my family.

DS can focus on his friends & teachers (we won't get in the way). I'll be busy catching up with my friends (including 2 ksp moms) too.

:celebrate:[/quote]I remember occupying myself with some reading while waiting for my daughter to text me her results. A quick text to me and then she was off with her friends, seeking out friends across the batch, looking for teachers to thank and then out for celebratory meal with more friends. Best wishes to both of your kids!

I don't think I know any of the other parents. Anyway, I think I can retain my \"cool\" better at home! I'll probably be more nervous with other parents around. I don't think my daughter minds me being there if I wanted to go, but she would feel torn between going with her friends and hanging with me, I think. Anyway, she's going from her workplace (got half day off). I'll try to bury myself in my current novel or work until the beep sounds on my phone!

1 A total of 1172 students at Raffles Institution (RI) sat for the 2017 GCE ‘A’ Level Examinations. This number comprises students from the six-year Raffles Programme (RP), as well as students admitted at Year 5 (JC 1) via the Direct School Admission (DSA) and Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE).

2 The class of 2017 continues to embody the Rafflesian spirit of excellence, achieving a stellar set of results at the 2017 A-Level examinations.

Overall Performance of the Class of 2017


3 98% of students achieved 3 H2 passes, with a pass in General Paper or Knowledge & Inquiry.

4 57% of students offering four H2 subjects scored distinctions in all four subjects. 63% of students scored three H2 distinctions in their content-based subjects. Rafflesians continue to excel at the General Paper, with 50% of students scoring distinctions.

5 344 students achieved a perfect University Admissions Score (UAS) of 90. In addition, 204 students achieved distinctions in all subjects offered, including H3 subjects.

6 The class of 2017 achieved exceptional performances across the various subjects with 7 or more out of 10 students scoring Distinctions in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Literature in English, Mathematics and Physics. 8 in 10 students scored Distinctions for History, and 9 in 10 students scored Distinctions for Knowledge and Inquiry.

7 Our students continue to excel with 545 students attaining at least 6 Distinctions, 300 students attaining at least 7 Distinctions, 74 students attaining at least 8 Distinctions, and 2 students attaining 9 Distinctions.

8 We congratulate Class of 2017 on their outstanding achievements, and would like to express our thanks to our teachers, staff, parents, alumni and the RI Board of Governors. Their dedication and unwavering support enables RI to continue its tradition of service to the nation.

Depends on what you intend to pursue at university. If it qualifies you for the course you want to pursue it's good enough.

Look at NUS course and the indicative grade profile, 90 percentile is AAA/A .and 10th percentile is also AAA/A. DD cannot choose Law, medicine and Dentistry.
