My girl loves to be a prefect but her school only allow prefects to have 10mins recess and they have to rush off to do their duty. She had lost 2 kg since then (only 1 mth). Can anyone share with me how hong is your child recess time if he/she is a prefect?

In my daughter’s school, prefects on duty during recess are let off 10 minutes earlier for recess. After break, they do their duty. So maybe also about 10 - 15 min. But not the same prefect is on duty every recess. Maybe 2 - 3 times a week only.

Maybe on days that she is on duty, she can bring some food and eat, can be faster. Or eat a heavier breakfast.

No extra time given for prefects doing recess duty in my daughter’s school. So, usually, we will pack a bun/bread for her. She will eat it while on duty. Well, queueing for food takes up lots of time… so this is one way out.

Prefects’ duties change yearly. This year, she has no recess duty but has to look after the lower primary school classes before assembly in the morning.

In that case go talk to the principal or VP directly.
