At Raffles Institution, 598 students, or 47 per cent of those who sat for the A-level examinations, scored four H2 distinctions. This cohort of students was the first in both schools to go through the Integrated Programme (IP) from Secondary 1. Previous IP batches had started the programme in Secondary 3.

RI's top scorer is Pan Zixiang, who obtained distinctions in 13 academic units for nine subjects, including German and Higher Chinese.

Another top RI boy is Chen Sihan, a Chinese scholar, who scored 12 distinctions for nine subjects.

Over at Hwa Chong Institution, 216 out of its 1,000 A-level students scored seven distinctions or more, with Lee Jia Li, 18, topping with nine distinctions
Anyone knows whether Pan ZiXiang, Chen Sihan & Lee Jia Li, are they from IP stream or mainstream O level ?

      Thanks

Seems that at least two of them are from main stream O level. Lee Jia Li only has 250 agg score in PSLE and was from mainstream O level Bukit Panjang Gov High school. One of the RI boy was from Temasek Secondary school before he joined RI for A level. I think Pan was from RI IP since sec1.

Hi everyone! I've got some questions..

Do you think that Raffles/Hwa Chong (JC) really has good teachers/academic programmes to groom all their students or do they do well essentially because they take in the students of a higher academic calibre?

If you stay far away from these supposedly elite schools, would you still want to go there?

Thanks! Do help to answer šŸ™‚

Of course. For example, the humanities programme offered by HCI (College section).
