        Hi,

I will be registering my girl for primary one this year. I am currently staying with my in-law. My husband IC reflects the same address as my in-laws however mine still reflects my parent’s place. For logistic purposes I would rather not change my address to my in-laws’ place.

In this case, when we register for her primary 1 registration this year, would she be following the father’s address or do we need to do a statutory declaration to prove that she is staying with her grandmother,? Thank you in advance for any advice!

          Application wise, it's straighforward:
          1. Follow father's address if the parents address do not match.
          2. If you do a statutory declaration, you will be placed in the 1-2km even if the grandparents live within 1km.

However, do note that if the parents' addresses do not tally, you may have to explain why (which could even escalate beyond MOE).
Under the National Registration Act, you must report a change of address within 28 days. Any person who fails to report the change of residence as required shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both.
Not sure the rewards for \"logistic purpose\" is worth the potential punishment meted.

actually the person who fills in the forms for p1 registration will tally both ICs...if the address of husband and wife do not match, they will question.

                    Blum,

Decide which address to use as a couple & parents. DO NOT attempt to use 2 diff addresses as DC's Year we thot one more appln hv to ballot & waited nervously for that call. It never came but BIL told me don't care whatever reason, just be thankful no balloting stress. Following year, I met principal as was PSG. She said one parent told to pull out coz they can't explain their address on registration day itself.

In anycase, like floppy pointed out, under National Registration Act when u move u need to report yr change of address within 28 days owise will be infringing the law. I rmbr a case of a young divorcee who moved to stay with her own sister, ignorant of need to change address, was fined.

You've time yet and hope your planning is smooth.

                        Guys.

                        Greetings
My daughter is going to P1 for 2019.

I don’t have experience on this and would like to seek your assistance on the procedure and timeline.

Most importantly have I missed the registration T_T.
