Maverick007:
Thanks. Not sure whether it will be too late for me to apply for Fairfield pv
Google is your best friend.
Rather than wondering, google will tell you that Fairfield PV for those born in 2013 will close on 31 May 2018. -
If you have time, why not?

Did this for my boy, if you really want your child to get in, it’s worth it

what if I stay more than 1km but less than 2km from the school, will I still fall into better chance category if I server more than 2 years volunteer work? Thanks

I think it works this way:phantom:
The primary school I am looking at is quite new and does not belongs to any clan, no alot of old boys yet, so I think it will be easier for me to enroll my kid, still 3 years before time for primary 1.
But any 1 know beside been near the school and do volunteer work, any way to increase the chances of getting into the school?
Guaranteed:
- If a parent is an alumni or staff of the school, or
- If an older sibling is currently studying in the school, or
Better chance (access to earlier rounds of balloting)
- If you stay within X kilometers away, and
- If you do some volunteer work for at least Y years (Y normally 2), or
- You are the member of some benefactory group to the school (clan, etc)
No chance
- If you stay > X kilometers away from the school -

[/quote]Distance always plays a part. But whether your chance is good or not depends on the school you are targeting.what if I stay more than 1km but less than 2km from the school, will I still fall into better chance category if I server more than 2 years volunteer work? Thanks

Hi, i’m new here. Can I know what are the options for community volunteer works? Which are the platform to look for the options? Minimum 40 hours is required? My girl is 3 yo now, think better start to looking out. Thank you!

I’m confused by your question. Which school are u targeting? U need to apply directly to the school to be a parent volunteer.
If u are talking about serving your community near your house, then U need to join under People’s Assocation and work your way up to be a grassroots leader (GRL). That could take several years. -
Is is true that the Hokkien Huay Kuan (HHK) can accept female members as PVs in their schools too? Reason being only wife is Hokkien (even though my mum is Hokkien too).
Is it too late to sign up as a HHK member if my kid is entering the P1 registration exercise in 2019 for the 2020 intake? Heard HKK members who are PVs have higher chance for transfer to HKK schools in P2 even if not successful for P1 registration?
Still short of 1 referrer from an existing member even though. The irony is that while I stay a stone throw’s away from a HHK school of our choice, our kid will most probably not stand a chance as many places are taken up by siblings, alumni, GRLs etc… -
If one of the parents was a former student of the shortlisted school, the kid will fall under PHASE 2A(2)?
If to be a PV will this increase the chance.
