Hi all, my son is taking PSLE this year. I thinking to use DSA through leadership for him. But cannot find much info on the MOE website.

He is school prefect since P4 till now, P2 to P4 was class monitor. He also represented school to participate for Friend of Singa and Cyber Wellness Ambassador Programme. He got the Edusave Character award in 2016 and Education Merit Award in 2017. He was also one of the emcee at last yr sch prize giving award and role model award this year. Are these suitable for DSA through leadership? Then what we need to submit?
Thanks all for your advice.
Hi do u know at what stage they convert to an offer? After psle results it before? And under what circumstance do they convert to a confirmed offer?

Thanks so much

You will only know on the day the PSLE results are released. As for the circumstances, I supposed it is subject to someone who did not take up the offer. For eg, student A was given confirmed offer by school A and school B. He choose to accept School A. Then, School B will be able to convert one student who was on wait list to an offer. I am not sure how they select who to convert though. They probably would have ranked the students who are on waitlist.

Yes. All the students on Waiting list are ranked accordingly 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and etc...by individual school. If anyone with CO give up their CO, the student on waiting list ranked NO.1 will be the first to be given a CO spots. Info is on the MOE website .

hi YngMng, do you know from last year experience how many DSA Academic students did RGS take in for each domain?
Hi,
May I know

eg if the kid received a WL and a CO and selected WL first then CO as his dsa choice options. But eg his WL ranking is not high but his eventual psle score is high enough to exceed the cop. Will he be awarded CO school instead if the WL conversion vacancies quota runs out before it reaches his WL ranking? Or will WL conversion be automatic if he can meet the cop?

When my ds1 dsa via leadership 4 years ago, his credentials was similar to your son's. If there are no specific requirements for submission (eg testimonials), submit these with his results too. There may be an in house dsa test to gauge the kid's ability to handle the Secondary school curriculum rigour. Do be prepared that majority of applicants are Head/Assistant Head Prefects, Cca leaders etc. I would say, for my ds1's case, the key factor was the results of in-house test, ECHA awards and interview.

If I understand your question correctly : you will get your dsa result the same time when you get psle provided you exercise the dsa option.

So if your child’s wl ranking is low priority, it does not change his/her status (for example if its not converted to co) even when he meets cop or better.

When dsa is concerned, there is always a what if scenario as most of them do not just try one school.

I was told CCA leaders hold more weight than Head prefects these days.

Anyone applied DSA to ACSI via music and got CO or WL?

Can share more details on the audition/ interview part?

Thanks!

My boy applied via music/violin. He attended an audition cum short interview.

Other schools like ri and ch, will include a written music theory exam (45min to 1hour) on top of those.

Hi poohy

Can share about your DS audition in 2017 ?
When and how (via phone call, email etc.) did you receive notification of audition ?
What was the minimum requirement for audition and was a set piece given for the audition ?
How many students were admitted via music DSA ?

:thankyou:
