I changed a couple of maids, both filipino n indo before finally finding a good n reliable indo maid who stayed with me for 6 years. As my kids have grown older, and she requested to return home to settle family matters, i made a difficult decision to let her go 2 years ago. She has contacted me recently to say that she is looking for employer in SG. She is responsible and has good attitude, n gives me peace of mind when I’m out at work. She learnt to cook Chinese food to suit my family’s preferences including handling pork. Anyone who is interested to contact her can PM me. She is available to start work asap.

My maid prostituted herself. I’ve sent her back to Philippines…

Yeah. Yesterday received an email from MOM.

I quickly called my agent. She told me just pay the extra insurance of $80. Depend on your helper. If your helper has been with you for years, she will not complained to embassy about the employer if the employer - FDW relationship is already good or okay in the first place.

Also according to agent, all agencies know that this extra is a way for the embassy to earn extra $. Coz the embassy has a cut or commission on this extra from the insurance agent that work with them. No other insurance agency can partake other than the 2 selected by the embassy.

This news from Indo Embassy…I can only said good luck to those in getting Indo helper. If they try to play play and give employer a hard time, my suggestion is terminate the work permits asap and buy an air ticket and send her back home. Must act fast before they anyhow go to embassy to complain and then your $6K fly with the wind unknowingly.

Sorry to say that…but that is the hard truth. I have seen 2 Indo helpers damn difficult. One is a loan shark and one is a thief and can fake fainting spell. So how? These kind is whose fault? - FDW or employer fault? Scarely these type not happy with employer and want to sabotage the employer by going to embassy. How?

@LC. Also called mine - ours not up for renewal/embassy whatsoever procedure yet, so not affected. Given the flood of complaints (to my agency), they're :xedfingers: Indon might tweak the ruling later on?...

In any case, the understanding is that...
                  (1) If employer agrees to buy the ~Sgd 75 bond guarantee (only 2 available choices of Insurer), employer will not need to fork out the Sgd 6000 Performance Bond deposit for the moment. During the contractual period, however, if the Indon embassy forfeits this bond, employer will then be liable to pay the Insurer up to that Sgd 6000.
                  (2) If employer chooses not to buy the bond guarantee, employer will have to at this juncture (otherwise paper work will not be approved) fork out that Sgd 6000 for PB deposit (not sure how the refund procedure will be like at the end of contract).

Yes this PB when forfeited goes to the Indon embassy; doesn't benefit the Fdw it is said. The intriguing thing is, nobody knows under what 'specific conditions' will the Indon embassy forfeit employer's bond - so to me it's more than just an employer-Fdw matter, quite simply complicated.

Yes I'd also just pick another nationality when the time comes/need arises.

@sky …mine is up for renewal lor. According to my agent, she said renewal of work permit in SGP is unaffected BUT unless if she needs to go home for the home leave, then the home leave doc needs to be prepared at the Embassy then we need to sign the new contract which is the $6K bond thingi.

So heng ah…my helper just went home end of last year and do not wish to go home this year. But next year I wouldn’t know. But sad leh…I usually tell my helper that it is must for them to go home yearly to see their family. So with this new law, it really contradict my wants. Sianz!

So dirty right…trying to reap $ out of employer just like that. I see how…I may end up getting Myanmar helper or none at all. If that is what Indo Embassy wants…then be it lor…they ask for it.
